Bed setup with drawers and large spare while maintaining space for sleeping

It's a 32' Salem with a slide. I could probably store it in the trailer, but I'd rather keep it on the rig for times when I'm not in the trailer. The trailer is basically a base camp for the dogs and the family, and I don't always use it on trips, so I'd like to keep the spare with the truck.

Bed setup with drawers and large spare while maintaining space for sleeping

I had thought about putting it on the roof, but I wouldn't want to leave it up there all the time (deterioration of the tire plus weight), nor would I want to load it up there, but it's not a bad idea. I suppose if I'm doing it infrequently enough that is as good as anywhere. I hadn't thought...

Bed setup with drawers and large spare while maintaining space for sleeping

I'm curious to see what sort of setups you guys with 37"+ tires, caps and drawers are using. My truck is a daily and "do it all" rig but I want to mount a full size spare, at least temporarily, in the bed for longer road trips and back country adventures. I'm going on a trip out to MT this...

    Roaming Lost: 2022 RAM 3500

I always get a little jealous of you guys out west with all your clear mountain views and space to take rigs of this size through. Great pics man, how are you digging the new rig and camper? Everything you hoped it would be?

    Trail Pig 2018 PW Build

Haha, I say the same thing every time. Eh, I'm only on a short bumpy stretch, and 2 hours later I think, man I should have aired down, but I'm only another hour on these roads. Once Nitro gets new gearing out for these trucks, and I get some ARB lockers, my plan is to plumb a sensor so I can air...

    Trail Pig 2018 PW Build

Doesn't look like you aired down at all, any reason why not? I'm digging the tent setup, looks like you've got plenty of room in there.

    Roaming Lost: 2022 RAM 3500

I love AEV stuff but they are def going through a ton of delays, and are generally noted for their delays on product launches, so while hopeful I'm also realistic that if I wanted that this year, I'd probably be out of luck. I agree on the flatbed and camper being a spendy route for sure. I...

    Roaming Lost: 2022 RAM 3500

I know your truck is a diesel but I thought I read somewhere about the power wagon winch mount or winch, I must be misremembering. Do you know if a 16.5 would fit? I'm not in a rush and am currently exploring options. I really dig the AEV look, but it's def not the best in terms of additional...

    Roaming Lost: 2022 RAM 3500

She's a big gal! I like the bumper, curious if they plan to turn it into a production model it or if it's gonna be a one off? You mentioned it used the Power Wagon winch mount somewhere or am I making that up? (curious to the winch size in there) Also, curious why you went with a hard top and...

    Suspension Edumication...

I don't know what gen, what style cab or any of that, but as a baseline, as @eyemgh mentioned, nothing does everything great. Obviously a lift as a daily is going to add wind resistance and handle worse than not lifted (generally speaking). You should be able to get a 33" tire under your truck...

    Suspension Edumication...

So, there are a million ways to skin a cat, as you can start to see. The thing you didn't mention, or I missed, is why you want to upgrade suspension. Looks? Off road performance? High speed desert? Low speed trails? Are you primarily highway driving with a little trail, or is this a more...

Why I switched from a Tacoma to an F150

I guess the funny part about all this, is that we are having the discussion at all. If this were the late 90s – early 00s you would be hard pressed to defend any of the major domestics brand rep for reliability, Toyota would be the obvious choice. The fact that we are having a discussing and...

Why I switched from a Tacoma to an F150

@tacollie I agree on the point you made about reliability of maintenance. A buyer that will keep up on their maintenance may be more interested in reliability overall, so they are potentially more likely to be interested in a vehicle with a history of reliability, as they plan to keep up with it...

Why I switched from a Tacoma to an F150

Yes the data they compiled is from sold vehicles, however their data is coming from 11.8 million vehicles sold in 2020 and looking at the number of vehicles over 200k miles. It's imperfect data, and I'm not trying to claim otherwise, but it is a data point. And a % increase isn't a viable...

Why I switched from a Tacoma to an F150

In my personal opinion, Toyota is exactly where the big domestics were back when Toyota made the major jump in the late 90s. Toyota is running on their reputation for reliability that is no doubt well earned, and they may be more reliable than most others even, but at this point it's a game of...

Potential downsize. Tundra vs Ram 1500

Haha, this is the exact reason I'm never worried about going over payload. No offense to monty here but this is the stereotypical yota owner, way legal payload but no worries because they tossed some better springs and shocks on. Total opposite of some of the guys that need duallys to tow a 9k...

Potential downsize. Tundra vs Ram 1500

I would say your best bet for finding the information you want is dedicated forums for each truck. This forum just won't have the kind of detailed info you're looking for. I think Toyota makes a great product, but to be totally honest they are starting to get to a point where I question it. From...

I've been eyeing that exact mount. I've got the factor 55 and haven't been super excited about how it mounts.

    Trail Pig 2018 PW Build

@BigBrokenZJ I've got a question for you. Your RSI cap seems to fit perfect where as a lot of the others look like they are a hair shorter and taper in more at the top. Did you order for a different model truck or what?

I did not know that, and it will prob save me some cash at least, especially for lights that won't be used often!
