Diesel Upgrade Cost - 1/2 ton vs 3/4 ton

As others have said, it's more than the engine. My understanding of the 1500 series is they reuse the same "everything" but swap in the diesel engine. There is also likely a "because they can" factor in there, as well as them trying to recoup licensing costs from the Allison name.

Advice needed. Adding bumpers, winch, and lights on a 2022 Ram 3500 Megacab

I'm currently looking at upgrading my front bumper to the Expedition One bumper. I think the AEV bumper arguably looks the best, but if I recall correctly you actually loose approach angle. Prob not a big deal if you're not really wheeling hard or often. I've got an RSI cap, and the angles of...

Eating crow....2018 Ram Power Wagon build

I've been toying with tossing my tire up on the roof rack to get bed space back for camping. How much of a pain was it to get up there?

RSI SmartCap vs Leer vs ARE for build out?

I wouldn't take anyone's word for that here without also contacting rsi and asking. That said, I'd guess it's to both center the cap and also help prevent it from spreading under weight. Mine are a little ways from the bed rails though so it's just a guess.

RSI SmartCap vs Leer vs ARE for build out?

I had a Leer 100RCC with the gullwing "windoors" that I had for a few months. I recently acquired a RSI Evo cap. My overall impressions are very similar to those here. I do prefer the design of a fiberglass cap a bit more, but I'll admit the RSI has been growing on me quite a bit. The pros for...

    Power Wagon vs F250 Tremor

I honestly expect the sway bar isn't nearly as important for most people if you're running tuned 2.5 shocks and don't have a camper or other high heavy load.

    b16gsr 2021 Ram 3500 HO build thread

Just a heads up. These OEM flares are installed with square holes, so installing them may prove rather tricky.

Looking for opinions on AEV Prospector XL

I will be as well, once they are out… I contacted ARB about timeline but still haven't heard back. Still waiting on Nitro to release gears for the new AAM 11.5 rears as well. I guess the changes were pretty substantial but I'm hoping this year they finally get everything out. With the pandemic...

Looking for opinions on AEV Prospector XL

For a lot of people it's not about cost but about distance you can travel per tank. That said, I also hear a lot of this on diesel forums and groups, guys willing to spend 2-3 grand on mods to get 1mpg extra yet refusing to take off the 37s. I think it's mostly that people hate the constant...

Looking for opinions on AEV Prospector XL

Thanks for the detailed response, and not taking it the wrong way. It's really hard to tell intent from purely text communications so I appreciate the benefit of the doubt. It's crazy you're MPG is that good so I'm pretty impressed to say the least. The Tundra is a bit long in the tooth, or was...

Looking for opinions on AEV Prospector XL

Is that number hand calculated? Not calling you a lier but with that Tundra loaded down the way you state, plus larger tires, even with a regear your mpg seems high. Also, not to point the finger but your full comment about how loaded your Tundra is pretty much sums up 90% of the overland...

    Power Wagon vs F250 Tremor

I've got a 19 2500 with Cummins and full Thuren suspension, so not really a stock power wagon comparison here but I recently went from Myrtle Beach to southern NH (~950 miles) in a single day. I made a few stops along the way (3 I think) to fuel up, stretch the legs and hit the head, but I...

Looking for opinions on AEV Prospector XL

OP, I've got a 2019 Ram 2500 with Cummins. Love the truck. I also love the look of them with 40s and the AEV flares, and constantly debate doing that to mine, so I feel where you are coming from. Here is a few pieces of feedback. First and foremost, if it's simply a capacity thing then perhaps...

    Expedition One Bumper on SD

With the ram, outside of the latch, did you notice any issues on fitment, rear park sensors, or powder coat? Some of the images in that previous thread I linked were pretty bad powder coat examples. I get the pros for paint, and may go that route, but was looking for something that was durable...

I am not confident but wouldn't that reduce/remove the traction control, not the 4wd? I guess I could unplug a ABS sensor and find out but those systems have 0 dependence on each other, so I don't know why one would affect the other.

    Expedition One Bumper on SD

I've done quite a few searches on this forum and the only even remotely recent posting seems to be here. It's hard to tell the current status of things, if nothing has changed from a few years ago I'd say it's a def no-go, however it looks as if Exp1 has made attempts to solve most/all of the...

This was an interesting read, haha. I think the first post and the follow up about repairing and paying a dealership, just pretty much sums it up. If it's carbureted and can be repaired that is good technology, if it's battery powered and can be repaired that is bad technology. I agree that a...
