San Diego/Boise *Price Drop* 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon w/ GFC

I dropped by because I continue to toy with getting a Gladiator as a downsize from my current Ram 2500, but I'm in a similar situation with you in terms of car seats and dogs (oddly enough also a chocolate lab). Good luck with the sale, one thing, you should update your ad. You claim "Only one...

    Flemster's 22 Ram 3500 Build - Sherpa Edition

Thanks! Price is good, may give this one a shot next.

    Flemster's 22 Ram 3500 Build - Sherpa Edition

How did the bulletproof mount do? Doesn't look like you have much heavy, but curious if it wobbled a lot.

    BFGoodrich KO3 coming soon!

I have a love hate with my AT3Ws. On the one hand they are the best winter tire I have had for slush, hard pack, ice, and other general new england road conditions one may experience "on road". I've not had the chance to take them off road during the winter, but anything deep I'd be nervous they...

    Flemster's 22 Ram 3500 Build - Sherpa Edition

I saw your build mockup on insta a while back and sent it to a bunch of my buddies. Truck looks super sharp and I dig every part of it, especially the Mits Alloy tray. I'm curious if you have some super interesting plan for putting a winch where you have it rendered, because when I first saw...

The bigger the truck, the greater the (misplaced?) concern about payload?

I honestly think this trend for going bigger is just the ebbs and flows of the industry. People get tired of the same old thing and want something new. There are starting to become more and more bolt on options for full sized rigs, so the jeep/yota crowd can start doing their mods. I think we...

The bigger the truck, the greater the (misplaced?) concern about payload?

Two things on that. #1, just because a lawfirm filed a lawsuit doesn't mean Ford will be found liable for anything. #2, the legal firm filing the lawsuit is Hagens Berman, which is a class action law-firm (aka ambulance chaser) who is only looking for a settlement and payout. Their MO is to get...

The bigger the truck, the greater the (misplaced?) concern about payload?

I don't think I've ever heard of a case that gets to trial where a OEM has to backup safety decisions. Some vehicles have poor side impact ratings, I'm sure that some people have died as the result of that, but I haven't ever heard of a vehicle manufacture being brought to trial for it. If you...

The bigger the truck, the greater the (misplaced?) concern about payload?

I'd agree with the first bolded comment. Every modern vehicle is built with huge margins for safety, because normal conditions are only part of the driving experience. That said, your second comment is sort of the obvious "don't do this". I'd argue that even if you're driving down said pass at...

The bigger the truck, the greater the (misplaced?) concern about payload?

The "right thing to do" starts to become a pretty grey zone pretty fast, considering that we all have slightly different moral guidance. For me, I look at the GAWR, and say "Am I under that number? Ok I'm good.", for some, that is not the right thing to do, because a sticker says no. For...

The bigger the truck, the greater the (misplaced?) concern about payload?

Didn't take long before this dropped down to a 3/4 vs 1-ton fight due to GVWR/payload huh guys? I can't speak to the current iteration of the ford, but previous iterations the difference was basically just the sticker. Most F250s on dealer lots near me had the exact same axle, brakes, etc. as...

    Ram 2500 Rebel

To my knowledge, the Rebel does not include any upgraded springs, just shocks. So you're not getting the lift the power wagon has. Additionally, you're losing a lot of the PW goodies. The only real benefit, for the Cummins trucks at least, is the rear locker. That's nice and all, but if I could...

2021 RAM 3500 Tradesman | AEV Prospector | FWC Grandby

What are you seeing for MPG for highway/local/offroad usage? Curious how well those new 8 speeds do, especially with the 37s.

    The Status of Overlanding Today

I feel this quote so deeply. The sears toy book, and later the full catalog with all the things (including what seemed like the full craftsman line), then later came the cabelas catalog. Oh I spent many hours flipping through hunting clothing that was far too expensive, and boots I deemed to...

Do we really need a spare?

I think there are so many variables to carrying spares that there is really no one size fits all. A lot of it is dependent on how far from a shop you are, how isolates you are, how much getting multiple flats is going to impact your trip, etc. I think another thing that I didn't see discussed...

    malibubts's 2022 Ram Power Wagon Build/Adventure Thread

Springs by Thuren are much softer than stock or PW coils. I would think twice about them for trucks that get loaded up with campers and drawers and such.

    Ram 2500 long term reliability

I'll never understand how OEMs rate trucks for towing capability as I don't think I've seen a setup where you can actually tow the rated max and not be way over payload on the 2500s and below. I've got a 2019 Ram 2500 with Cummins. I've been towing a 32' travel trailer and while it's rather...

    Questions About Shocks/Springs Ram 2500

Sorry for the questions. Did you run Thuren tuning in the shocks, or did you have to run different valving? I'm hoping this is my solution, although I'd love to jump over to the full 3.0 Dominator system from Carli, I don't have the dire need and have other mods planned that are more important...

    Questions About Shocks/Springs Ram 2500

Did you have to do anything to run the Carli +2"? I currently have the Thuren +1" rear, and it's so soft that my truck is squatting with the cap and spare, it will be worse once I add drawers. I've been thinking about doing the Carli +2" coil for the time being.

    Roaming Lost: 2022 RAM 3500

That's pretty crazy considering how "little" those campers weigh. I assume once you've got it loaded down it's quite a different story. Looking forward to seeing how it continues to treat you.
