I was about to ask about the shooting star.
So that's the view from your back yard???dang!
Nice shot! I think bringing down the mountains would fit the feel of the shot a little better, make them more moody. There is also a little fuzziness along the line where the two shot where merged along...
I've located a 71 that is complete but apparently has bad rust on the frame. I've not been able to look it over but I might this weekend.
I'm familiar with frame swaps on series Rovers-is the 40 similar? Is a frame swap something common?
That must have been a large female shark to go after a tarpon that large. I recall watching Flip Pallot fishing for tarpon in the keys with I think Stu Apt (big salt water fly fishing guys) Flip hooked a large tarpon, fought it for a good period and finally had it boat side. Stu (I think?) was...
IIRC the Kodachrome process is time intensive (i.e. expensive) and not exactly envrio friendly due to the chemicals but I think it's the cost and lack of film sales that caused Kodak to stop production.

Come on brown truck!!
This is from the new Basalt line from Gitzo-it's still carbon fiber but it has some basalt added to the mix that drop the price a couple hundred-it also has...
Thanks Trevor, that's a great option. You're right the spec's are almost the same as the 2531 and are overall better than the Manfrotto plus it's not very much more than the Manfrotto.
I've bought a few things from Adorama lately and they have been great so I'm planning to buy from them this...
Ok, I am going to buy today (yeah profit sharing!)
I've got it down to two choices; Manfrotto O55CX PRO 3 CF and Gitzo 2531
Looking at the spec's side by side the Manfrotto has a little more max height, lower min height. Load cap favors Gitzo by 9-10 lbs and Gitzo's warranty is by far better...
