    DSLRS ARE A DYING BREED

Have heard a lot of this before (I remember the Canon 35mm with the split mirror that eliminated the mirror movement and noise) and it has some good things. But like so many of the "new" things until it is proven I will keep shooting with my DSLR's. A few months ago it was a camera that you...

    need some help

Never saw one like this before. Mini Tour could be the model, manufacturer could be anyone - any other tags inside or out? What is inside, looks like a plain shell to me, a great start to a sleeper/small camper project as it is completely sealed and would be relatively light compared to what...

At what age do you feel like staying home?

For my mother it happened in her 30's - she is now just about 90 and has stayed home for just about 60 years (we live 4 blocks from her and she has visited once in 5 years). She is waiting to die has been for 60 years, every few months she says that she won't be around next week or next month...

WOOD vs. METAL Trailer Wall Construction

I built a trailer that we use for hauling gear all out of wood, reason was as stated by others - it is what I knew and was able to do myself. Here is a link to our build - sorry on another forum and do not want to rewrite it for here...

    This is cool

You would need the right camper but this would be a cool addition to a truck camper. Locker for back of camper I have nothing to do with this item and do not know the person that has it for sale.

Expedition vehicle - how did you decided on yours

You have a picture of my next unit - not the Jeep :Wow1::Wow1::Wow1::Wow1: I have loved the buses for years and every time I am around one I imagine how cool it would be for a motor home build!

Reality check for diesel-systemed truck camper

A friend has either this unit or similar in his semi and he is amazed at how warm it keeps him. In real cold weather he starts it up several hours before starting the truck, then when he starts the truck it has already started doing its job. Runs the truck for a while then it is on the road...

    Toughest truck camper??

Forgot about the newer ones and the flex, I love my older one as the cabover is a lot lighter (read into that a lot smaller as well) and doesn't cause the same pressure/stress when bounced around. Actually my entire unit is lighter and seems to be better for playing with in rough conditions.

    Toughest truck camper??

I do not know if there is one that is the toughest. I like, okay love, Northern Lite's for the build quality inside and out - mine is a '92 and looks like new as they use real wood and not press board. Add to that the fiberglass shell and it takes less maintenance to keep it water tight...

C5500 TopKick 4x4 Crew Cab Build

I would go with the side opening. They get out of the way and hold the load without shocks or cables. I did see a nice unit that had top opening doors that had a rubber hook to hold them open without using a shock or cable but it again added something else to the build.

What the coldest my Bigfoot camper can really withstand?

I have a Northern Lite (same design), for air movement I picked up a small 12v fan. This way I can aim it to where I want. Works great in -20 & -30c to defrost the windows.

2012 Dodge 5500 - Expedition Camper - The build has started

Looks great, looking forward to the inside pictures. The camper looks large on the truck, but it looks like it fits the truck very nicely as you do not have a lot of overhang at the back.

Reality check for diesel-systemed truck camper

The less noise for me would be a big benefit - I hate the furnace noise.

Reality check for diesel-systemed truck camper

Actually the original post mentioned nothing about travel; Purpose: This vehicle will be built over the next 6 mos-year and used for regular two week excursions, frequently in cold weather (snowboarding trips). It will probably be regularly moved while on trips (daily) and primarily for dry...

I like anything besides white. If you do stay white add a graphic to the sides to break up the look.

    school me on truck campers

First understand that I am biased - I really do love my NL. You have two choices for a fiberglass Northern Lite and Bigfoot. Many of the things that are true of the NL is also true of a Bigfoot. One thing that I have found with the Bigfoot's of the same age as my NL is that the BF's look...
