Have the same one (without the metal flap - I am jealous). Found many to replace it, problem is that they hook closed from the outside and I am too short to reach it. Still have the old one.
Okay I will see how much I can get out before my fingers give up :sombrero:
First the bad news
1 - Water can and does travel in the camper, case in point I have had a couple situations with the fresh water storage tank at the front of the camper and I have found water all the way back by the...
You are not limited to a length as much as weight. I have seen some HUGE units on short beds, honestly I would not want one as they do not look safe.
My TC is a 92 and has everything that you mention without the air (around here the air is not a big issue and I did not want the extra weight of...
Before you upgrade having a pilot is great in the cold as just that little flame will keep your tank from freezing. I have an Atwood like yours and I hate lighting it in the wind, but in the fall and early winter it is nice to keep the tank from freezing.
I think putting a TC on a trailer looks funny. That being said if it works (we know it does) and if it fits your needs go for it. Who really cares how it looks, life is too short to worry about everyone's opinions.
The only thing is that you may find a few campgrounds (if you use them)...
I understand. Okay here are a couple more things - if you are in the city do you have the space to off load a TC? If you are using the TC in the winter will it be useful to have a full bathroom? Will it freeze in the winter and will you need to winterize after each trip? Maybe a van would be...
Okay to throw something else into the mix, why not look at a motor home and do the conversions from there? You mention snowboarding trips, this could be done with a standard motor home (class A, B or C) over a 4x4 if you are staying on the main roads or look for a 4x4 motor home and modify...
I read this the other day and was going to answer then decided to leave it for a while. Well I still have the same question that I had the other day...Why? I am not saying not to do it, just why. I run propane and have to say that I like it. All the appliances run off of one tank, no fuss...
Is this an insult of the landscape around here? No wait it is true, south and east of Calgary can be a little (okay a lot) boring, north is a little better, west is great! Good thing is that on the major highways it is 110kmph so it goes by fast.
My neighbor came over with a pile of old CB's and antennas that he was cleaning out. They were all magnetic mount antenna and I didn't want to spend money on the mounts (yes I am cheap). So I was going to put on the bumper, tried on the truck roof and then came up with the idea of the hood...
I had a piece of metal bent in a 90 degree angle, screwed to the inside of the fender coming up through were the hood closes. Then used a magnetic antenna on it, so far seems great.
I have two of those, one is for parts and one is still operating. I prefer white gas to the propane as you know exactly what you have left over.
Yours looks like new (a lot better shape than mine), great stove!
This could solve a lot of problems for just about anyone that is out. No more opening coolers/fridges during the day, easy to get to, extra space for water/drinks not in the fridge. Very nice!
Really do not like the side boxes as now my trailer looks bare without them:drool::drool:, maybe time for a modification to my trailer.
Love the reset lights as well.
Another vehicle if it was closer I would buy. Two things that I would do is remove the rear rack (for most of the travels) and add a bush bar on the front.
