    Expedition Vehicle. Priority on modifications

Unless there is some sort of scientific or knowledge-gathering mission as the agenda (or a tour operation), whereby the transport of specific gear is required, I think an expedition vehicle is really just a personal preference for one's mode of travel. Someone who is traveling mostly just for...

    Defender 90?

Hello Nathan and Graham Sweet Rovers! Nathan, I have always enjoyed your website - the latest version of it is just top-notch. Well done pal ;) Graham, those pics and that 110 are something else... 30,000 miles in Africa... life is good. :ylsmoke: I haven't clicked on that link to your...

FZJ80 and Tacoma. Evaluating the choice

I bought my '98 Xcab TRD Taco for 23,700 OTD in the fall of 1997. Although I definitely agree with Kevin in the first part of his post, about taking the stock 80 anywhere in the world, I would have to disagree a bit on the cost comparo. Even if one was to add 20K in mods to the Tacoma, it would...

Roof double wall question. Gap between steel panels?

Scott, I have a link that may help - but the page is no longer around, so I found it using the wayback machine. Ronn's monitor install on a 1998 Xcab Tacoma. Give it a try. If some of the pics time-out and do not load, right click on them and "show picture" - I got some to work that way. It...

You bet. You are welcome to use the fridge too if you would like. I'm not sure what you are bringing, but if you can keep it cold for your drive up to Mayer, then put it in the fridge when you get here, it might save you the ice, etc. But feel free to bring the cooler too - whatever u prefer...

    broken arrow trip

I don't know when exactly, but it has been for a long time. I had also heard that there was consideration of closing the trail completely (my guess is that the homeowners near the trailhead were involved?) and I don't know if it is still open or not. I need to pay a visit.

Just an FYI - the pipeline (Greasy Spoon) trail is now "technically" within the Red Rock district, which means that "technically" a pass is required to park there and leave your vehicle, and no camping is permitted. And the Oak Creek Homestead property is posted no camping allowed. (it is a...

Hmmm - not sure if I was clear, when I said pivot the canoe 90 degrees, I meant with the hull still parallel to the ground, same as it is in the driving position. But with the bow and stern off to each side of the truck. Hard to explain...
