My truck has had a bit of hard use lately and needed a bit of cleanup. One of the things I wanted to address was a decent amount of rockrash on the wheels. In the process I decided to change the color and resprayed them last night. The color is a little different than I expected. I used...
The heavy duty tents out there serve a purpose and fill a need, most of which is driven by offroaders. As the Rooftop Tents have exploded in popularity in the past few years they have also become much more "mainstream". The mainstream consumer more often than not does not prepare their vehicle...
From what I've been told, it will only be available in White (to start) but that really doesn't have much to do with the name. The plan is to also have options for vinyl wrapping in other colors, and since it's gelcoat you could have it painted any color you like. Generally speaking hardshell...
If you go with the Autana (non-XL) you will be able to fit the 3 of you for a little while but it will start to get cramped. If it's important to you to all sleep in the tent and not in the annex, I think you'll definitely want the XL. The XL will comfortably sleep 4. The XL (Non-Ruggedized)...
I think that could be a number of things, but I highly doubt it's burn marks. It looks like it's over the plastic feet of the ladder which I doubt would generate much heat. Just my opinion, but I'd keep an eye on it and if the cover starts to dry and crack at those spots, then bring it to the...
Post a photo of this. I highly doubt there is enough heat generated from friction to burn the cover. However, if you are leaving your tent outdoors in direct sun for long periods in hot weather with the cover on and not moving I suppose it could be possible that the sun could be heating up the...
What has been suggested by whoever you talked to at Tepui is really your best option. This isn't a Tepui exclusive concern as nearly all tent manufacturers are using the same or similar material for the floors on standard models. It's part of the trade off with the standard models vs a heavy...
I know several people have used a 1" or even a 2" memory foam pad on top of the mattress. With any of the options you have to be aware of getting the tent to close properly (enough) so that the travel cover will still fit and zip without too much strain on the zipper, assuming that you plan to...
I take it you've never used a Thermarest? Comfort is very subjective so what works for one may not work for another. If I'm backpacking, I use just the Thermarest by itself and sleep comfortably so for me this is plenty of extra cushion in the tent if I need it.
