As a side sleeper myself, this is an effective approach. I don't "need" to do it much since I sleep quite comfortably with just the standard mattress, but I've used my Thermarest a couple times and it was nice. Two of them fit reasonably well under the mattress. What I like best is that I can...
good observations/feedback dman. Remember occasional lubing of the zipper is also a good idea. Tepui suggests bees wax. I use a bit of WD40 sprayed through a straw attachment to keep it more precise. Both work well.
There are a few DIY security ideas out there. There are also "theft resistant" nuts that can be used. Tepui is actively developing a security system to address theft as RTT's continue to grow in popularity. One of the other methods could be a decent temporary solution until Tepui gets...
Thule or Yakima or Rhino Rack load bars usually work out quite well for tent/rack mounting. You did not mention the type of vehicle you're putting the rack on. Does it have a rain gutter for rack attachment or roof tracks or are you attaching load bars to factory rack rails? Your options vary...
Typically the manufacturer load ratings are for Dynamic loads. I would expect this is no different, so a 450lb Dynamic load which is quite a lot. I know several people using these for roof top tents and between the tent and occupants are without question exceeding 450lb with no issue at all.
Redline will still build these for customers. They will also ship the body kit for customers to build their own. A little birdie also told me that the original Red one that is currently owned by Redline could be for sale. It recently got a whole new Autocraft/Icon suspension system that makes...
I was referencing the width in the case the tent was mounted to open off the rear of the vehicle. Yes the XL would be big mounted that direction but I've seen it done. If you're planning to have the tent open off the side, then you can disregard the comment.
I think you could do it that way and have it work fine, (it actually might work better that way, so I'll have to try it) but I used mine under the canopy so that it was attached to the forward bow of the tent (above the door) and to the one that supports the overhang. Hope that makes sense...
Thanks to those of you that have finalized your orders on these. A few have already received them and at least one more is going out today. The rest of you on the list, let me know if you're not going to complete your order (if you haven't already), so I can make them available to others.

Well...after driving an 80 series for 16 years on 35's with stock gears, I now have 4.88's. I still feel like a gear swap is not a requirement to run 35's on an 80. Stock gears are adequate. However, the 4.88's feel GREAT! General power feels better and the truck pulls better on the highway...
Not the easiest to see but this is the Autana Ruggedized mounted to a JKRU to open off the back. The entire back wall of the annex zips open to allow access to the back of the vehicle. I will say that the Autana is a perfect fit for the JK, like it was made for it. As has been mentioned, the...
