The Hurt Locker - 2003 E350 v7.3 Crestline Ambulance Build Thread

Best price on ACRs I found was at Binicle.com. They were on sale at the time, free shipping, and may have even had a promo code. here’s what I bought https://ca.binnacle.com/p6760/Blue-Sea-7610-SI-ACR-Automatic-Charge-Relay-with-Start-Isolation-12/24V-DC-120A/product_info.html Or...

The Hurt Locker - 2003 E350 v7.3 Crestline Ambulance Build Thread

FYI, when I wired in the ACR, the cable from the centre of the diode isolator is connected to one post of the ACR along with the cable that connects to the starter batteries. The cable from the house batteries connects to the 2nd post of the ACR. My first choice was to wire the Alternator to...

    Cummins Canoe (A Stepvan Story)

I pulled out a sewing machine on a school camping trip and made my “bulkhead” curtain. I had told one of the other dads I was going to sew a curtain... the looks on peoples faces when I put the sewing machine down on the table and plugged it into the truck was priceless :D I was accused of...

The Hurt Locker - 2003 E350 v7.3 Crestline Ambulance Build Thread

FYI, my starting batteries kept dying after 12-15 months with the Diode isolator. The last set were six months old when I put in the ACR. That set lasted more than three years when the last three sets all died before 15 months. With the diode isolator there’s a .7 volt drop... meaning the...

    97 E350 Crestline Ambo Build/Mod

I may need to steal of these for the ‘New’ mower. So far I’ve been focussed on getting it running. Surprisingly it started and ran despite the carb. I’ve been bypassing the starter solenoid to start it for now... electrical gremlins are further down the list.

    Type 1 ambulance conversion f350 vs f450

Are you looking at a 2WD or 4WD? Do you have any particular need for extra capacity? A 2WD E350 easily runs 3000 lbs front and 6500 lbs rear. I don’t have #s on an F series, but I can’t see them being less.

The Rig Runner ...a 2010 E350 5.4 DIY Coil Conversion

Hi-Lifts also work the same way... I had a rig that liked to rip the stems off the inner dually... so I’ve done it far too many times.

How much benefit is there to a DC-DC charger over an ACR? I can see an advantage for higher value batteries, but I don’t know enough to know for others

Parasitic drain?- In need of some guidance/help

.013 amps doesn’t seem like much. Between the computer, clock in the radio, door locks, alarm... I’m surprised it’s not more. It should be good for 3 months. 12v isn’t fully charged... they should be more like 12.87 v when fully charged. I know a lot has changed... but my old Toyota will start...

David has/had a bigger one. Not sure what he’s going to use on his current one. Power use is essentially the same for both... but bigger = $$$$.

You’re a much braver man than I... perhaps by the time you and Dave have interior design perfected, I’ll have time to redo mine ;) I’ll be following along. Still happy with my Dometic CRX-50 “Kenworth” replacement fridge... in case you don’t already have a fridge.
