Last week I had a car tire that was going flat… I called the local shops and got quotes of $30-60 + tax to fix even though I was carrying it in. Turns out it was a valve core issue… but the way prices are going it won’t be worth paying a shop to patch a used tire.
I’ve had great experiences...
Outside… bah, wus. :D
You’ve not lived till you’ve broken off the bead with a bottle jack to fix a broken valve stem on an inner dually on a dirt road.
Della Falls is a must see. I was always told they were the highest waterfall in British Columbia, and in the top ten in the world. That said, Wikipedia and other internet sources disagree. At 440m (1440 ft) they are definitely worth the hike to see. They are a few hours hike in after a short...
The only flaw I see with that plan is that if you get truly stuck in 2WD then you’ll need a lot more than 4WD to get you out. Whereas if you used 4WD in the first place and respected your rigs limits, you’d save yourself a lot of headaches.
Alternatively, don’t wait till you’re actually stuck...
I’m sure it was a difficult choice to make. It makes me somewhat :(, especially since my rig is a ‘97 and falls below the line. I haven’t got any plans to have (or do) a conversion anytime soon… but no longer having the choice saddens me somewhat.
That said I completely understand why you...
We’ll have to connect if you are on the south end of the island.
Enjoy being here on the rock… so many things to see… and fewer fires than inland at this time. (Knock on wood)
I recently had the same problem with my left front brakes.
I’m my case brake dust and debris on the sliding pins… etc. After some cleaning and servicing they’re back to 100%.
Based on this experience I’d recommend an annual service of the brakes. Unlike my old Toyota brakes that I hardly...
Correct. Factory 2WD radius arms.
Overall I don’t believe that the leverage ratio would make a big difference… but trying to think the length of the “lever arm” on a solid axle makes my head hurt. It’s been longer than I care to admit since university physics.
I would agree that you should...
The 880s are exceptional in my E350 with a 7.3 PSD. That said it’s 3700-4000 lbs on the front axle… unless you’re significantly over 3000 lbs in the front end, the 880s will yield a harsh ride (from what I’ve read and understand).
Hey David, how’s Goldstream?
Rig looks great in person. I’d have stopped to visit, but I was on the other side of the highway and had a kid at home waiting for medicine to settle his stomach. The traffic was terrible on that side… hope you’re able to avoid it.
Enjoy the holiday.
I’d look into Walker ‘Quiet Flow’ mufflers. The one I put on my 40 was very quiet and SS to boot.
Can’t say about top end performance (not built for that), but the bottom end is excellent. It was a “New” 350 with 9:1 compression vs 10.25:1 that came out so there were too many changed variables...
I swapped in almost new 7.3 E350 coils and got a bit of lift, and some ride improvement. When I swapped in Moog 880s coils in the ride was way better and also the handling.
Even with a blown shock the ride was still decent (and by blown I mean the shaft pulled out of the shock body when I...
My daughter and her friend scale my 40 all the time... no ladder required (although it's not a van). Last Halloween they threw candies at trick'r treaters off it's roof rack. It was there way to ensure the other kids were at least 6' away from them.
I know its not a van, but every thread needs...
