Forgot to post pics of the bag mounts. Here’s the top:
I used the 1.5” leveling kit spacer that I bought and offset the bag a bit to help with clearance. Worked out really well and made the air hook up easy. I called firestone to make sure that I had the right amount of support on the back...
A couple people asked for pics of the front wheel adapters. Here they are with a fresh coat of rustoleum on them to dress them up :-)
I started with .75” plate that I turned a step into to catch the inner diameter of the Hutchinson’s. The out flange is around .5”.
Got to spend some time with the truck this weekend. I started by installing some underbody boxes I picked up off CL.
These will come off for paint but I wanted to get them in so I could mount up my compressor. I’m using a 12v puma. I liked Java’s install so duplicated it in the drivers side...
While I had high hopes of making lots of progress in the last few weeks, relatively little has happened ?
I was able to snag some camper jacks off cl finally. They are Atwood’s, but the price was right. I wanted to make them very removable as I don’t think I’ll travel with them so I decided to...
Oh no...definitely an in progress build. :-)
For reinforcing the cabover section I’m tying the roof diaphragm into the cabover roof diaphragm and using lots of sika 252. According to spec it should work. We’ll see. I’m 240ish lbs and can hang on the front corner with no deflection....and I...
Thanks for the input everyone. Mat Mobile...I will use those type of blocks when traveling for sure.
I’m slowly resigning myself to getting the electrics...might buy a basket case camper here locally with good jacks on it. Anyone want a free jackless camper? I’ll include the organic matter...
Thanks. Those are awesome looking. I might just have to bite the bullet one of these days and get a set of those. I could also just do manual crank if I'm only taking it on/off once per trip maybe.
Anyone have camper jack suggestions?
Here are my thoughts on camper jacks...
1. Holy smokes they are pricey
2. Normal ones just seem flimsy.
3. They are all designed for campers in normal trucks...not flatbed campers.
I've been watching cl for months and passed on a set early on and haven't...
Haha! Good idea...but too late :sombrero: Peeled them all off the drivers side and now just need to do the other.
Happy you like the writing...I ain't no pro tho (where's the redneck emoticon?)
Mine had the same issue. I'm stock 10x225 and the wheels have a center bore of something like 221...so the stock bolt pattern splits the bore. I machined the ring you saw in my build thread and then inserted it into the wheel. Then I drilled the stock pattern through the insert/wheel combo...
Yeah...I faced the same lug inner lip adapter issue on mine. You're right...the front is pretty easily solved by removing the dually adapter...not sure what BS Alcoas have though and if that makes it work. The rears are just tough to solve. I imagine the hubs could be replaced on the back to...
I think I’d jump to the 41”. I was very reticent to do it on mine but am glad I did. I also shied away from the Goodyear because of the increase in size (and $$ too). Carlyle switched from the 275 because he was close to load limit and found they wore poorly. I think you might be in the same...
Interesting. I had planned on just the mechanical in cab adjustable valves. It seemed to me lots of the automatic ones caused people issues. Tell me more about your thoughts...
