Okay,
Sounds good. I have them all programmed in and will be monitoring. I have to get a better antenna for the FT-60. I'm in a hole at the house & office and can't hear diddly with it right now. I can see myself putting something in the attic or on the roof before it's all over with.
Hey Bill,
Sorry for the late reply. I just got back from the lake. Anita and I took the dog to Stamp Creek. He actually went swimming voluntarily for the first time in 9 years. I guess he's finally over the trauma from jumping in the pool when he was a puppy. We were in shock. Anyway, the beer...
Alright, I'm really starting to get the hang of this. I figured out where to find all the repeater frequencies and I also figured out how to use the computer to program the radio. I now have 30 or so repeaters programmed in along with their off sets and tones. I had a very enjoyable ride around...
I spent a good part of the day yesterday studying and found that I knew a lot more than I'd figured. The theory and math makes perfect sense and the miscellaneous information is easily retained once it's been read over a few times. All that being said, I'm going to get the General Class...
Thanks, I'll look into that. I got the recommended package from the HRO store here in Atlanta. The guy was really good and after google-ing the equipment, the prices were quite good over all. I'll upgrade the antenna once I figure out the radio and its capabilities. I progressed a lot today. I...
Great website! That's what I was looking for! Thanks!
I sprung for a magnetic mount antenna and just plopped it down on the hood and ran the coax in through the fire wall boot. I turned it on this morning and found the weather stations were working. I have a fairly short ride to work, so I...
So I got a Technician Class study guide and a Kenwood TM-281A mobile unit. I've picked a test date of 8/22/16 to shoot for and now I'm studying like a school child again. :violent-smiley-031:
I don't know diddly about Ham, but I do know that the jacknapes on CB channel 6 and 11 are killing it...
Both. I haven't perfected the Solar part yet, but It's there. Shore power works great.
I changed inverters recently and don't have updated picturs, but here is the battery tender and solar controller.
The Rig and Trailer look great together. Nice work on everything. A few questions if you don't mind:
Do you have an idea what your trailer weight is when fully loaded?
What is the make and model on your pump?
Where did you get your tanks and are those your fabricated mounting straps?
Can...
Great report. Thanks for posting. Beautiful country out there!
I like your truck with the topper and tent. I'll build something like that for my next truck.
You guys ate like champs...some good looking food for sure.
Just got my lighting and power setup energized. Now I have to get out there and use it...but man it's hot out there. 107 Heat Index this weekend. I need a 12V fan...LOL
Here is the mount for the area lighting. I'm still working on it and might change it. I really want something that will wrap around the bar and have little or no protrusion on the top of the bar. I just haven't found the right "clamp" yet.
Here is a shot of the days work load. I installed a new inverter and cleaned up some wiring on that side of the box, then started work on wiring the area lighting, tent power and lights, tongue box and tub lights. I had two Boston Butts smoking on the grill and couldn't go anywhere for 12 hours...
