    FIDO Expeditions 2016

It's good that you found that crack when you did. I've seen and felt the results of a tire destroying itself at speed. Especially if it is on the front. (On mine, always the LF?) Too bad it is going to be that much to get things right. The folks that had my FG before me drove 18,000 miles...

    Anniversaries and Adventures

Interesting write up, I had to read it a few times. A good friend lives in Blandinsville and her daughter lives in Carbondale. I've been there in the summer as well as IA. IL. OH, KY, TN, LA, South TX, AL. in the summer. Then again a few times in the winter as well. It makes me appreciate living...

Taking a chance on an old truck

Sorry, I didn't take my camera with me. A pristine '77 FJ40 was in camp with us. Yep, the one the kid got as a wedding gift. That forest green color. His mother drove it to camp and home. I suppose she still remembers how to drive a stick. Good luck with yours. About the only problem friends had...

    Your Thoughts on Limb Risers?

I don't really have an opinion. I just know that I have cleaned plenty of pine sap off of my flattys and have never broken a windshield, yet. Pin stripes? It's a friggin' Jeep.

    jeep jk unlimited camper project

Sometimes even cut stuff can be returned if you get into it and find that it is delaminated. Then again I had to glue some together to get a job done in a timely manner and of course, it depends on how it's stored. You might just need to turn it over. Keep it off of concrete.

Soft Roaders Texas Hill Country Wine Tour 2016

CB radios can be a bit cranky unless they are set up correctly. I cheated and I run a Marine band in my camper. It will transmit about 25 miles and I have recieved from about 50 miles away. Perhaps sort of illegal but I've used it for years and I know when to stay off of the police bands. Lots...

Taking a chance on an old truck

My neighbors son got a FJ40 from another couple as a wedding gift. Daniel worked on It a few months and the previous owners say that it looks better now than it ever did while they owned it and they bought it new. They are good sound vehicles that do well on the trails. Our groups rescue vehicle...

In Need of Help - Williams Lake, BC

Somebody posted this somewhere, a trip is just a trip until something goes wrong. Then it becomes an adventure

New member w/ 2007 Fuso FG, just installed Ranchos and Timbren bump stops.

Personally I always put my wheels back on myself. The Mitsu is probably the most problem of all of them. Put them on with the tools you have so you can change a wheel if needed out in the hot arid afternoon. Rattle gun jockeys don't know about proper torque and many don't know about LH vs RH...

    Offroad Trip 2016 Trip Report - Utah/Colorado

Nice photos and report. It looks like you enjoyed your time here. The people that live in this part of the state rarely admit that Boulder is part of CO. I grew up about 12 miles from there. If nothing else it's like going to a circus when you are in the town. Some people are fine there, the...

    Tuktoyaktuk, January 2016

Things have changed at the border crossings. 45 years ago we were stopped and my father said he had a .22 pistol in the trailer. Either give it up or ship it home via bus. We shipped it and came back with the paperwork showing it was sent. All was good then and they never searched the truck or...

    JJ's Adventure Mobile Build

It's nice to find a good shop near you. I had a problem South of Moab on my 3B. I limped into Moab 4X4 and said I need to rent a hub puller to fix the brake backing plate that had decided to come loose. I talked to the manager and he said to pull the Jeep in the back lot and handed me the hub...

Florida to Colorado, a 5,000 mile tour of the country

I'm happy you enjoyed your visit to the state I have called home my entire life. There's lots of places here that I haven't seen yet either. I seem to be spending more time in the Eastern part of the state anymore, It's just different and many less people out there.

The Dalton Highway from Fairbanks, Alaska to the Arctic Ocean

A nice report and that road is on my bucket list. A friend was one of the metalurgical engineers for the pipeline back in the '70s. He spent 3 1/2 years up there in Prudhoe bay. A few years later him a a couple of his friends rode dirt bikes from Oregon to Alaska. He was the only one to ride...

Cooper Discoverer-Overlanding through the Deserts of Utah and Arizona: In June?

Have fun out here. Hiking in the summer isn't too hard if you start early and carry a lot more water than you thought you might need. Look up for the ruins, they didn't build their abodes at ground level. We found a few the rangers didn't know about or at least they didn't want to admit they...

Timber Me Ginger's Solo Cross Country Scooter Adventure!

Just keep riding and share the good karma with others. The best gloves I ever bought were some tan deer hide ones from Walden CO. One pair is probably 20 years old. EWWWWW, tan gloves and a black jacket, on a Harley? I would loan you my old HD rain gear but it would probably fit you like socks...

J8 to be built in South Carolina ???

There's a guy over on the CJ2A page that has a line "I'm too busy trying to steer this thing to give a Jeep wave". Or something like that.

Beeping buzzer after going through water

Not the same but my '94 has one buzzer, an over heat alarm. It starts as a low grumble and builds if the temp goes up. I don't even have any CELs on the thing. It sounds like you have a problem with a connection that sets off something when It gets wet. My neighbor had a problem on a trip. CEL...

Adventures of "Sally Ross" Fuso Camper by Phoenix Pop Up Campers PHXFG

I've been driving my Mitsu-Fuso for over 18 years and have gotten a rock stuck between a dual once. I knew of the chain method, I had the chains. No, battery box in front, holding tanks in the rear. No other vehicles around to pull it out. Run the inside tire up on blocks and remove the outside...

    SilicaRich's Overland TJ Rubicon Build

Peachjeep, it's up to you to figure it out. On one of my Jeeps the cigarette lighter is hot all of the time, the other is only hot in ACC or when it is running. Take a VOM and poke around your fuse block to find a hot place to plug into. Usually there are a few unused spots in the block you can...
