Road Trip in July: TX-NM-AZ-Route 66-NV-UT-CO-TX (May Add WY-SD-ND-MN-IA-MO-NE-KS-OK)

Just my opinion. I've never lost a tire on a trail in my over 40 years in a Jeep. A friend killed two on his LC in about 10 feet. Pay more attention to the road and don't stare at that womans ********** in the seat next to you. I have lost four on my motor home. Get good tires to start with. Two...

South Europe, North Africa and the Balkans in 1975 6x6 Volvo

I've owned Volvos for about 40 years here, never seen a 6X6 in person. Keep going.

    AROUND THE WORLD 2 WHEELS

I have a problem when a person takes a bunch of pictures posts them, and about every one has a picture of their vehicle in it. OK, I know what a frgging Taco or Jeep looks like. I'm going back to my corner and be quiet.

NC to OR on the TAT in my 4Runner

National parks passes are good to have. Several years ago, I found myself driving over Trail ridge road twice a weekend to get from and to a jobsite. They were about $60 then. Great, they work at Lake Powell too! I spent so much time riding my motorcycle through the entry station that after...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

I've only had to stop once for a rollover heading out from Lake Powell. It was a few years ago and the people in the Ford were helping each other out and headed to the ditch side. No serious injuries and the father is a DR. 8 people that stopped behind me are all on their cell phones trying to...

    Stock Fuel Tank Capacity?

Yep, my stock tank was 33 gal. I found a 50 gal rectangular so It makes me a bit happier. I just don't have a place to put the stock tank and I ruled out the rear bumper.

    My Journey

Don't worry about when you get somewhere. After all you are in a better place than being at home in front of the idiot box. My Misu Fuso will nut out at 68 MPH. I worried about it for a while and decided to just say screw it. Drive at 50MPH and I'll get there when I get there. I'm supposedly...

is there a way that I can figure out more via a Willy's vin database? Both the CJ2A and Early CJ5 sites have decent threads in vin #s

Road Trip in July: TX-NM-AZ-Route 66-NV-UT-CO-TX (May Add WY-SD-ND-MN-IA-MO-NE-KS-OK)

Lots of trails and places to camp in Co and UT. If you are in the Moab area in the summer. Do your hike early and plan on being in the shade with a cool one in your hand by 1:00 PM. Somewhere there is a cartoon of a skeleton and the caption reads, "But it's a dry heat".

    Lumpskie's 1989 Grand Wagoneer Build

Good plan. Remove any sources that can cause a future problem while you are in there. It's a real fun time to have to walk out and return the next day to rescue a dead Jeep, or Scout or Toyota or Ford that had electrical problems. You have to keep that magic smoke in those wires.

    One Piece at a Time

Don't worry about it. Most people here are forgiving about any errors. I'm sure none of us have ever screwed up.

1973 Wagoneer - Full Size Camping Goodness

I grew up camping and traveling around the northern hemisphere in Suburbans so I can identify with that shape of vehicle. I would love to have a Jeep like it parked in my yard.

[YEAR 7!] Quit our jobs, sold our home, gone riding...

Gene, as always a nice report and I try to not clutter up a thread with something like a short blurb about your trip or something about how nice your pictures are. You are having a wonderful life so good for you. You would fit in well here, the boys sitting in the driveway with beers and the...

Road Trip in July: TX-NM-AZ-Route 66-NV-UT-CO-TX (May Add WY-SD-ND-MN-IA-MO-NE-KS-OK)

It looks like a good trip but to me it's a bit over planned. When you get to some places I think you will find that you can't appreciate everything in one day. I've been going to Moab for 30 years and there is still many areas I've never been to. the same with SW CO. I see you blocked out three...

NC to OR on the TAT in my 4Runner

It seems like you are having fun on this trip. I only went Vegas once and three days turned into six and I was willing to hitch hike home at that point. Harleys and rain, I've had to empty water out of my boots before after a ride. There are faces in them rocks, you need a few more beers or some...

Adventures of "Sally Ross" Fuso Camper by Phoenix Pop Up Campers PHXFG

Sort of apples to oranges. On my '92, the glow plugs don't come on until it gets below 40 deg F. I've started it at 0 degrees and it was a bit cranky but after a few trys it did keep running. I've never used the engine heater on it.

1973 Wagoneer - Full Size Camping Goodness

I wish I could be so unlucky to have something like that fall in my lap. It might not be the most fun thing to do but it really should be saved and if nothing else passed on to somebody that can grow to love it.

Something followed me home: 7 slot love

Good work. The last things that followed me home were a Mitsu Fuso motor home and a '69 Commando. If I'm going to putt around town, I still take my 3B. The Jeeps, Mitsu-Fuso and '53 Buick earn the most smiles per mile from me and other people. Get out there and drive it.

NC to OR on the TAT in my 4Runner

Good trip so far. Good luck with Denver, I spent the first 19 years of my life there and now avoid it at all costs. I don't think it has gotten any better.
