    Gearing for Monteros - List

I meant to put this here. I was talking about the differential gears. The transfer cases are specific to the transmissions being used. I have not seen a transfer case gear change in a Gen 3, but that does not mean it is impossible. I know it would be more expensive than beneficial. I will post...

    Question: Gen 3.5 Ltd 3.8L vs. 255-85-R16's

Speedometer is reading based on wheel speed. Changing tire sizes will alter the reading, but gear ratio changes do not.

    Gearing for Monteros - List

Gen 3 had 4.90 gears in all 4speed (XLS) models. In 2003, the 4sp was dropped in favor of the 5 speed with 4.30 gears. Both ratios are interchangeable between all Gen 3s. Look for HYBLID LSD on the rear label to determine if it has an LSD.

Decision: 99 Montero vs 2004 Outback

I am just south of Greenville and make regular trips to the Jocassee area through NC Gorges State Park. Sometimes I go to Linville Gorge. I also know of a few trails in North Georgia.

Door lock security warning for Gen 3 (not sure about other Gens)

I have not yet experienced this. Have you been able to find any information from the Pajero forums for this?

Flashing Center Differential Light on Gen 3.5 Ltd.

Have you checked all of the connectors on the transfer yet? I have not had the flashing light in my 05, but I did notice a loose connector fitment on one of the wires while changing the transfer case oil. I zip-tied it together to prevent any possible issues. The center differential movement...

I think this is what you are looking for.

    HAS ANYONE...... (GEN 3)

I have not seen them just removed, but there are pictures with rock rails on Rocky-Road's website. If it is a metallic rattling/rasping noise, then check the outer metal casings/heat shields on the exhaust. The ones on my muffler tend to rattle at certain low speeds.

Can I really not grease my u-joints gen3

There is a grease fitting on the front driveshaft, but the rear shaft uses CV joints that do not get serviced. All of the factory ball joints have also been sealed units. As long as the boot is not torn, the grease inside will be safe. Mitsubishi seems to have designed them for easier...

2005 Montero 3.8L Inlet Water Pipe Leak

From what I have found, MD030763 is the o-ring I need to replace at the back of the water pump housing. Found it here (https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dlya-avtomobilej/mitsubishi/pajero-montero-4375/v65w-10690/myhcq-625206/water-pipe-thermostat-7921567#/il-189289042) I will get one off of...

2005 Montero 3.8L Inlet Water Pipe Leak

I have had a coolant leak coming from my water pipe o-ring for a while and decided to try to fix it. I had ordered o-rings and removed the manifold only to find that I had gotten o-rings for the wrong pipe. I had ordered the o-rings [N10] for the bypass pipe [9] and not for the pipe in the...

No, it was the older Starwagon style. I could not get a picture as we were driving opposite directions, but it looked like this:

Mitsubishi Delica wandering near Greenville, SC

I was driving home the other day and passed a dark (possibly green?) Mitsubishi Delica just south of Greenville, SC. I was wondering if that belonged to anyone in the forum. It also made me really want one.

    Gen 3 Timing Belt DIY?

Not too difficult, but very time consuming to do right. Interference engine means you can't mess up anything in the timing reassembly. I didn't have a free day to work on it, so I took it to a shop with all the parts I had ordered to do it myself. $400 in parts, and maybe $300 in labor?

    2003 Montero LTD advice

Pictures would help assess the condition. Will definitely need the timing belt/water pump service done as that is needed every 60k miles (It has gone 91k miles without a change). Not sure about the odometer problem. Could be minor, or it could be a hint at a hidden electrical problem...

New Free CAD Sheet metal tool

I have used Onshape for several hobby projects. It reminds me of Pro-E Wildfire, but is much simpler to work with for most designs. I have yet to try out the sheet metal tools yet. I will have to see if I can come up with anything for Gen 3. More skid plates would be a happy start...

    Air lift for gen 3

Offroad, where did you order the airbag kit from? I have found a complete kit from Airbagman in Australia, but nothing in the US. http://www.airbagman.com.au/resources/testimonials/32-mitsubishi-pajero-air-suspension-airbag-man-kit-cr5002hp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHk0tzzzgI4

    GenIII Limited Slip Diff

I agree with you guys about the annoyance, but the stability control (ASC) can be shut off manually by the switch on the panel in front of the gear shift. Just hold the rocker until the ASC off light comes on the dash. I would only recommend this for times when it is being troublesome and not...
