fuel consumption 1HZ and 4.2 turbo troopcarrier

    Don't own a Troopy with the 1HD-FTE but in a fully loaded 100 Cruiser including towing a 1.5 ton (metric) trailer you're looking at 12 - 16L/100Km.

fuel consumption 1HZ and 4.2 turbo troopcarrier

For the 1HZ I would plan on 14 - 18L/100 Km if it's a fully loaded rig (roof rack, 33" tires, bull bar, dual batteries, side steps and brush bars, rear bar with dual swing outs, roller drawers in rear, fridge, water, tools recovery gear, food and camping gear). What do you mean when you say 4.2...

    The replacement - 2004 HDJ100R Landcruiser

The distance between the mounting channels on the ARB awning is 47-48 mm. Photos of the bracket I made up. I've also put a piece of 4 mm rubber between the bracket and roof rack to clear the lower edge of the outer lip of the roof rack if that makes any sense. Cheers, P

    The replacement - 2004 HDJ100R Landcruiser

Thanks, it's a nice vehicle for sure. For the awning I made up a simple bracket. It's 30 mm by 30 mm square, cut on an angle with two holes drilled in it to mount to the roof rack then a flat piece welded on at 90 degrees with two holes for the awning. Not an off the shelf job but a few scrap...

    1HD FTE problems

Not on the 1HD-FTE you are thinking of the 1HD-T (1991 to 1994 for Australia anyhow). The 1HD-XXX series had three evolutions: 1HD-T 1HD-FT 1HD-FTE If you have a choice, the 1HD-FTE is the pick of the bunch.

    1HD FTE problems

The 1HD-FTE is a very reliable engine as are most of the 1HD-XXX family of Toyota engines. The single most important thing is to get evidence of regular engine oil and engine oil filter changes. Both should be done at 5000 Km intervals. Otherwise the timing belt is due at 150 000 Km's...

    The replacement - 2004 HDJ100R Landcruiser

Bilstein shocks and slinky coils The research I've put together outlined some key points regarding the 100 suspension setup. Most of this was thanks to Darren and goes like this: For a vehicle on 16" rims, the maximum height should be no more than 750 mm from bottom of rim to fender edge (for...

    The replacement - 2004 HDJ100R Landcruiser

Tackling the suspension As with most of our vehicles, the factory suspension was not up to the task of carrying all the extra weight as well as handle the corrugations dished out by the Australian outback. So my research for suspension started. My criteria was roughly as follows: The...
