Just did the Cape last year (in a 100 Cruiser and Kimberley Kamper). It was a blast. Best advice I can give is go and enjoy the trip. The cape is reasonably well travelled these days and if you do come unstuck there will be people.

They are an off the shelf ARB part number. Normally bolted but because this is a diesel they have been welded up to prevent failure.

Well done on research! Your tenacity outmatches my memory. :elkgrin: I now remember that the diesels seem to be suffering from this issue based on research here on Oz forums (LCOOL.org).
