    LR3 prices continue to fall

They make kits now to convert to Coil springs. But it's not the same as with a solid axle, your articulation goes way down with coils on the Independent suspension

    LR3 prices continue to fall

So Spikemd, you make valid points, but answer this for me: Why choose a P38 over a disco II? Everything the P38 does, the disco II does as well or better. Plus a larger aftermarket, more sold for spare parts, better transfer case, etc...

Identifying the "little things" on Camel Trophy Rigs

Post up if you find a source for these - I'm sure many of us would be interested in a set.

    LR3 prices continue to fall

Ditto - here's 1 reason: Borg Warner TC And here's another: LR3 has an optional locking rear differential

    Camel Trophy

Pangea Expeditions did one: http://www.pangaea-expeditions.com/projects/camel/index.html There is a comment about making a CT replica front bumper. Maybe contact them and see where they had their's made, or dimmensions for modifying one to be more CT style.

    LR3 prices continue to fall

I have driven both the FFRR and the LR3 offroad. The LR3 is much better. The seats are better in the LR3 (for offroad work), suspension works better. More black plastic or scratches to hide in. The LR3 is what engineers designed for more offroad functionality. The priority of the Range Rover...

2009 LR3 with no locking rear diff. Is TC good enough for offroad?

Mine was packaged the exact same. Basically every single option they had for the year (except the dealer installed DVD which I didn't want). And yes I have seen a jeep and toyota pickup on 40's getting stuck everywhere (and they looked like they knew what they were doing)- our little old LR3's...

    Looking at a new 2012 LR4

Not too up to date on the packags/options but you'll want the NAV. Getting the display will allow you to get the 4x4info screen. Very helpful in watching what is going on with the air suspension/wheels and for troubleshooting.

Parts Availability: RRC vs DI vs DII?

Khronus, please pass them along. I think I'm back to a classic. Something about that look does it for me. The good news is up in the Pacific Northwest, these don't rot away. So I should be able to get some parts cars pretty easily if need be.

    Looking at a new 2012 LR4

Yes same width. Major LR4 Changes from LR3 Facelifted front end (new bumper, grill, lights, fenders - added inlet on drivers side), Redesigned fender flares (slightly different design at the ends), Rear bumper has a slightly different appearance. Major change to interior and new engine. Almost...

    Looking at a new 2012 LR4

Love my LR3, wouldn't hesitate to take a LR4 out in the woods. Only draw back is the larger brakes don't fit OEM 18" wheels. But this can be solved with some special 18" compmotive wheels that will clear the brakes. Definately get the rear locking diff if you're ordering. Well worth the money.

    Picked up a broken 99 D2 for 1300.00.

How much does a full engine rebuild cost? Oddly enough am all too similar 99 DII in white with cloth interior popped up locally with "overheating" problem for a couple more dollars than this one. Hum... now you got me thinking about it

Parts Availability: RRC vs DI vs DII?

Thanks for the comments guys. Still deciding between RRC and DI.. I think I'm leaning toward DI at this point.

Parts Availability: RRC vs DI vs DII?

I am considering purchasing an older rig (LR3 is just too dang reliable :coffee: ) . I am trying to go with the oldest (RRC with less electronics to go wrong) but I fear parts availability will/already is drying up. This will be a long term purchase (no plans on selling for ~10-15 years). It...

    Help me pick a D1

If Land Rover imported 110's for more than 1 year, and 90's for more than 3 years, and if you could buy one of these for less than $20,000 - then yes, most of us would be in Defenders. Lots of if's there ;) Welcome to the US. Disco's and RRC's are the cheap ones over here
