Why are there not more MK III expo rigs on here?

Not really derailed. The question was answered. People don't use them due to lack of aftermarket parts, plus the higher initial purchase price. No real choice for under body armour, front and back bumpers, snorkels, lift kits, wheel choices etc. The market isn't there for it. Even Lucky8's...

93 RRC vs. 06-07 Range Rover vs. LR3

Keep the classic. Add another Rover to the fold. The market for good classics is growing. Plenty have been chopped up for off road use, ragged to death and others are rust buckets. A good solid one will always command a decent sell price. If you sell it. Some Rovers get under your skin to the...

    A little overwhelming...

For 17s. If you want the factory 17s. You can pick them up for peanuts here in the UK. NO ONE want's them as it's one of the first mods done to show it's not a poverty spec model. Seen a set of 4 with tyres go for £50...

The 3 should sit slightly bum in the air. 465 vs 485 for ride heights.

    A little overwhelming...

The factory side steps are pretty tough. I used mine as rock sliders for a while before I got a proper set bought. Just had to get a few fat mates to jump on them to bend them back into shape at the end of the day. I do miss mine for getting in/out the car. Short ******** problems I know.

Land Rover Body on Frame Question

Book time of 8 hours? Better tell my Indy to slow down a bit! His personal record to remove a D3 body is just under 2 hours from start to lifting the body clear of the chassis. Few years back, lifting the body was the considered method for changing the rear timing belt or the turbo on a tdv6...

    LR3 search

The terrain response got an overhaul for the 4. My friend has a 12 D4 with the rear locker, his terrain response shows the centre and rear diffs locking in stages of 1/3 2/3 3/3. My early 04/05 has the centre diff showing as locked or unlocked. 0/1 or 1/1. The 4 was great on a recent off road...

    A little overwhelming...

I would echo Nwoods. Check the battery, the date of build will likely be on the - terminal. Anything over 4 years, i would change. D3s LOVE good power supply, a dying but still working battery can throw up all sorts of error codes, faults etc. When mine was dying, it would say on start up that...

    Compomotive Wheels?

I've messaged the guy who got them for under £200 each for the name of where he got them. That may take your $2000 lower still. :)

    A little overwhelming...

Congrads on the new car. Firstly, i would get it checked out, it's 9 years old, they are heavy and they do have common wear points that need to get checked out. Get the car up to scratch before going for modifications, no point sinking a cash into tyres, racks etc when the car needs a service...

    Compomotive Wheels?

Thanks to 9 years and 117k of British weather, rain snow and living in the Scottish highlands for 6 of those years with road salt etc for months at a time. Only the front upper arms came out with needing an angle grinder. The other 4 arms were cut out. It was the same with the front lowers...

    Compomotive Wheels?

Hmm, now you have me curious. What's the size and spec for the G55 brakes? The G isn't very common over here so not aware of it's specs? I think i've seen 4 or 5 this year. I do whole heartedly agree on the annoyingly large calipers and the silly size of wheels. The Comps are an answer to a...

    Compomotive Wheels?

Comp wheels were partially developed with an Australian off road company to allow the Disco 4 and also Mk1 RRS drivers drivers to use a better range of tyres than the 19s that came from the factory for them. The bigger engines had needed bigger brakes which rules out lots of 18s due to caliper...

    LR3: Reverse Only?

I wouldn't worry too much about rust. The D3/4 platform is very good for rust protection. My own 04 has spent half it's life in Scotland, and in the highlands where we put road salt down for months at a time. Mine has surface rust on the chassis at parts but it passes it's annual mot test...

    LR3 park brake adjustment

Ask and ye shall receive. Or something like that anyway. Full brake set up guide for front, rear and hand brake is in this file. I printed it off and it worked a treat. Also. You CAN remove the module cover and wind back the brass rod in the motor, i did that on mine as i refuse to pay £330+...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

Jesus, a 110 with the original County decals down the doors and sides... They get lost when they get painted and 99/100 times never get new decals fitted. The door bottoms look to be going, happens to them all. You may be able to save the frames if you act quickly and try to cut out the rusted...

Going to look at a used '08 LR3 in an hour...

I would be asking what work the other car has had done. The front lower control arms are a almost legendary point of needing changed on the 3 and 4 models. Parts to be done properly can be a few $$$ plus the brake fluid change and general condition. Paying a little more upfront on a car that's...

Going to look at a used '08 LR3 in an hour...

I wouldn't worry about old codes. My 05 when i plugged it in 2013 was showing codes from 2010 and earlier, some were to do with EGR valves, which the previous owner had removed in 2010. I would take clean records, the proof of decent parts fitted over something else. These cars LOVE good...
