Key differences between gens 2 and 2.5 besides fenders and engines?

butterfly valve...here is my understanding 1)this only effects the DOHC motor 2)its the screws ( or whatever holds it together, not the shaft) that eventually rattle loose and can drop into your intake causing some serious damage 3)I believe this was a recall and there is an updated plenum that...

What did you do to your Mitsubishi today?

well not necessarily today, but in the last 2 days. 1)1st ever (i assume) full synthetic oil change with mobil 1 filter 2)new ceramic break pads all around ***I cant believe my 2003 has floating rotors all the way around, this is beyond awesome!*** my old gen 2 had captive rotors in the front...

So...with the old belt on, rotate the engine via crankpulley bolt until alll 3 timing marks line up, loosen the tensioner pulley bolt, remove old belt...now once you remove the old belt is that the point where the pass cam is gonna want to rotate, or once you start threading the new belt on? and...

    1993 sr or 1998

why does it need a gearing change? who knows maybe he'll run a stock tire size and the 427s will be sufficient man that is definitely alot of mileage, that 98 is pushing towards the end of its life. Honestly i dont like either option presented

Retarted Gen 3 Hazard switch question.

Mine does not flash, seems like that would be hazardous (pun intended) if you were driving down the highway at night with a giant red button flashing in your face

3.8L timing belt change (gen 3)

while doing my serpentine belt i noticed that my crank pulley bolt (the head of it) is spray pained yellow. I wonder what this indicates, did they come painted yellow from the factory or does it indicate the timing belt has been changed and a new bolt put in???

    Serpentine belt gen 3 3.8l

mitsubishi has some well thought out engineering...fan removal isnt necessary, but they made the upper fan shroud easily slide out with no tools necessary, which allows you to slide the old belt in and old belt off around the fan. The addition of a little hole in the tensioner assembly (stuck...
