    Colorado Campworks...any input?

Can't stand up in it, no toilet and no shower. Not what I would call an overland camping experience. Seems to be a lot of hype for a lot of money. Basically a tear drop for a huge outlay of dollars. Have to position it just right for it to collect solar.

    Expedition Sandals

OMG, there is actually a 'sandal' with a bottle opener in it. Not sure when these were determined to be a must have but the idea of not having an opener can really undermine your day. Sandals were a necessity when there were pop top tabs all over the beach but with the advent of ring pull cans...

    Practical barbecue grill solutions?

A rule against charcoal grilling is not the point. When fire bans are in effect, a flame, whether wood or charcoal are not allowed. Don't burn the place down even if you think your particular type of cooking device is OK. Even if there is a fire ring and the ban is in effect in that area and...

    America’s Great Continental Divide

The reason it is called continental divide is (in North America) the line of summits of the Rocky Mountains, separating streams flowing toward the Gulf of California and the Pacific from those flowing toward the Gulf of Mexico, Hudson Bay, and the Arctic Ocean. So basically you are on top of the...

    Expedition Sandals

I understand the need for freedom, but wearing sandals or any shoe that expose your feet to trail dangers seems to me to be a mistake. Cactus, rocks, branches and the like are a problem that needs a good hiding boot or shoe. I am at a loss to think how this mode of transportation is good for...

LR4 to Defender direct comparison questions

It would be great to be able to have one of the LR4 or 5 to compare. Best I can do is compare my LR3 to my previous military vehicles. I did park next to an LR5 not too long ago and the owner said that they also have an LR3 and preferred the interior room of the 3.

    Traction boards / aids...

I use the 'Marston mat' type shown on the left in that picture above. They store well and can be used for a table or seating, unlike Matrax or the like. Actual Marston mats are really heavy, these are aluminum. The fiberglass mats splinter and leave shards to get caught in your hands. Prefer...

Scepter MFC and MWC more widely available.

I only use Scepter cans for water, never fuel, only Nato cans for fuel. Putting fuel in a plastic container is asking for trouble, just my experience.
