hitch-mounted spare tire rack in 1.25"

You're likely going to have to build it. Keep in mind, 1 1/4" receivers are light duty so I don't think I would want to having a spare on it and tongue weight from a trailer. One or the other is likely the safest thing. Good luck.

I think that's a home built version based off the idea of the HitchGate TireGate. That's what I have and have been very happy with it.

Frustrations of a 2nd Gen Ram Interior

More details in my build thread but I would share the gauges mounted up. Still need to do the wiring but I am very happy with how this came out. T-case shifter clears without problems and puts them easy to see. Thanks for all the input and hopefully this will give others a good idea.

    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

Okay, after a year long search on how I wanted to mount the gauges I ordered from Speed Hut, I finally found what I wanted. I ordered a 3 gauge pod off EBay. When I got it I was very happy to find it fit very well on the underside of the dash, almost like it wad made for it. Now I wanted to...

    group 31 batteries? Best value?

Yep, I have dual Platinums under the hood and a single 31M in the camper. Been very happy with them! BTW, the Marine version (the one in your link) does not have as good of a warranty at the auto versions. The 31 Platinum is not available in an auto version IIRC. I have the one in your link...

Frustrations of a 2nd Gen Ram Interior

Colby Jack, yeah I could do that but I really have not liked a pillar setups unless they were a single gauge. Beyond the adding thickness to the pillar, I don't like that it puts all three gauges at different focal points. It's basically a last, no other idea, I can't do anything else type...

    Considering a Suburban

Ones with the 4L80E trans are near bulletproof and have overdrive. If you're looking older and non overdrive, ones with TH400 are as solid. You are likely to get better help if you narrow a year range/body style. Suburban has been built since 1949 so there are a LOT of variations of them...

A Challenge - How Obese is your Rig?

Downside is, I do not nearly have the gear I want to carry (spares, recovery, etc.) because I haven't found a good way of carrying/securing items. I really would like to move over to a flatbed with storage boxes or a utility bed but am also concerned about weight creep. This has been a major...

Frustrations of a 2nd Gen Ram Interior

Yeah, I have thought about it but really didn't want something that big. That space on the floor, next to the lever for the t-case, I like to put my large brim hat, so it's handy but out of the way. Can't put it behind the seat as the dog would lay on it. :) I just bought off E-Bay a...

    Back to a truck Camper!

My truck has the factory rear sway bar and I have no problems with sway issues. I have actually caught other vehicles going up twisting mountain roads so it seems to be working. That and the E load tires.

A Challenge - How Obese is your Rig?

I happened to weigh our rig back last Dec. when I was heading out for AdventureDuo's CalZona trip. Myself, packed for 4 days of food, water and supplies, '97 Dodge Ram Club Cab, 4x4, Cummins Diesel hauling a Four Wheel Camper Grandby with all options. Total weight = 8660, Front axle - 4320...

    My 1990 ford f250

If you travel in the dirt, I wouldn't waste my time with any K&N filter (or any of the oiled gauze type). Though they let more air in, they also let way more dirt in. I have this on personal experience as I would find fine dust in the intake track. Moved back to high quality paper filter...

Frustrations of a 2nd Gen Ram Interior

I actually had this mount and test fitted it. Really did not like the fact they were at the front of the dash (against the windshield) and only held in with one screw. Overall a bad design if you're going to be bouncing around or driving washboards. As for the stock stuff, I am sure it's...

x2 I like the added bars. I really like the main section of the bumper and guard. I wish something like that was made for my Dodge Ram. Keep up the great work!

    Doc's AT FlipPac Build Thread

I can help answer question 1 and 3. 1. I believe this was done so Dave could have a full lenght fold down table that is mounted on the backside of the of the arm. It's between the can mounts and tailgate so you can't see it when closed up. 3. He wanted to move weight down to keep CG lower...
