    Cutting the Fat. Bumpers???

Weight, this thing is heavy. I pulled the third row seats but offset them with two 5 gallon Nato cans that I carry under the LR, and with a drawer system from FR that holds all my camp and cooking equipment. Equipment has been added in for tools and ARB fridge that is in the second row, sets in...

    Snowpeak Home & Camp Burner

How long will one last on a continuous burn? Realizing that cooking is an off and on situation. I use propane, have an 11 pound tank that I have had in use for about 6 camping adventures cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner at least, still 1/2 full and costs about $11 to fill. It is not...

    New Defender News

I will put things on the roof rack and hang stuff off the back but the only stuff I want on the side of my LR would be the mirrors and they fold in. There can't be so little room inside the new one that there is a need for that picnic basket box on the side.

    Headlamps

Just got my newest headlamp, rechargeable, tired of those little batteries that corrode and don't last long anyway. https://www.rei.com/product/143374/fenix-hm50r-rechargeable-headlamp

    Cutting the Fat. Bumpers???

you have my sympathy for being underpaid as I think almost all teachers are. realizing that selling bits off your vehicle may be your best option, considering. there are probably,or may be, a few that may donate their original parts that they remove, rather than junk them, to help you out...

    Cutting the Fat. Bumpers???

sell the whole thing and get something else. why sell it (stuff you put on) to get a few pounds off and maybe get 2 more mpg? it is a 300+ hp vehicle and will surely pull you around. I hear Jeeps are lighter. don't for get that roof rack that has such an aerodynamic hold back, and that snorkel too.

Is There A Good Thread Out There Already for Bad Cooks?.......

I suppose you can even burn jello? Anyway, following a recipe is not that difficult. There has to be something in here that will build your confidence enough to be able to at least make toast. Bon appetite. http://www.camp-cook.com/forum/

    Recessed box for water outlet

Check at an RV dealer or shop. Maybe Camping World. Lots of neat things there. https://www.campingworld.com/recessed-water-inlet-50601.html Maybe a faucet can be fitted to it with a hose extension.

    LR4 Coil conversion?

Happened (failure) to a friend far from home. Down to the bump stops on a rutted dirt trail. We jacked it up to regular street height and pulled the fuses that activate the air suspension and went home. Next weekend replaced the air suspension on all 4 wheels. Failure was due to rust at a...

    LR4 Coil conversion?

CC, I am with you on this. Can't figure why anyone would want springs over the designed-in air suspension unless the vehicle you bought has lost its air or the one you have has. Really not that difficult to replace them (air suspension). Lots more freedom with air. The height can be adjusted...

    OVERLAND Journal Payload podcast

Can't believe that just because someone tells you that their idea of what you should have or not is the best way to go. Plastic bumpers on a vehicle are not my idea of the best way to go, but that is just my idea. MY LR did come with lots of plastic, didn't like it so I went with metal. I am...

    Dealing with Dusty Roads

My LR air intake is just behind the right front wheel, stock location. I installed a snorkel to intake the air a bit higher to lessen the dust taken in by the filter. CO roads are often dusty and I am often the tail position. Having to ride far behind for minimum dust and visibility. The snorkel...

    No refrigeration needed

Ableguy, Yeah, I remember 'C' rations and also 'K' rations. We would get them at surplus stores and use them for our back yard campouts. There is a 'C' ration cookbook put out by Tabasco Company with some very interesting recipes in there. Really doesn't work for FD type food that come in...

Replace the passenger side window switch - 2006 LR3

I removed the door panel to replace my mirror. There is a vid on the Atlantic British site that explains it all. They did it to exchange the stock mirror with a longer one to use when pulling a trailer. Not really difficult, just a bit time consuming. I have done it several times, once to...
