I would have gone the RTT route but can't get that arrangement in my garage and I am not willing to let this LR sit in the drive all year long leaving it to the elements and the vandals. Anyway I would have gone with the Alucab arrangement as it is a bit more robust and looks better than a huge...
Maybe a photo or two to let us see what this beauty shows off.
If you intend to travel then maybe thoughts of how you might be able to sleep and camp in it. I had a space that was made into a sleeping platform on my 07 LR3 by using Front Runner drawer system. Going on a 8 day adventure the end...
I have one pic on my phone of the mount going into the radio face plate so if you PM me your gmail address I might be able to send it to you. Might be able to send another but am not going to be able to use my camera to get pics.
I have created a sleeping platform in my LR3 that is from back of driver/passanger seats to rear door. It is the height of my Front runner shelf system and I use self inflating pads from REI that are about 3 inches thick. The pads do not stay in the back fun time as a mattress would. I find that...
I have an RV3 Oztent and I got the fly, walls (sides and front) ordered separately . Truly takes very little time to set up the tent, 30 seconds. Staking out and installing the walls takes me about 20 min more. I can't see setting up the walls unless staying in one place for at least 2 to 3...
We also drank from the hose, letting it run a bit to not splash hot water on each other from the hose sitting in the sun. Seat belts were a novelty and the hood ornament was an airplane. We ran bare foot in the summer and rode our bikes without helmets and knee pads, looking back it is amazing...
Just because an item comes from a hardware store does not make it dangerous, it is brass and can be cleaned before during and after.

My RAM mount is attached behind the facing of the radio plate and no screwing was involved. Solid and looks great holding the battery monitor and phone. Just have to pull off the plate and expose the screws to the radio mount.
I have seen zebra in the wild, this is a white vehicle with black stripes. Since most of it is gone then redo it with real looking zebra stripes if you really want something unique.
I have seen on Youtube an example of a TentCot set up on a Front Runner roof rack. If I did not have things already on my rr I would do mine up there as well. Even though the TC is keeping me above ground a bit more altitude might be good.
