Just to add... i have the same series ARE topper on my '17 frontier and use a hard shell RTT frequently on and off road. no issues at all. Nothing special about the topper at all, ordered it with the yakima rails attached.

Guess the question there is what did you hate so much about them? Looks like you're running 285/75s? Wider isn't always the answer. A stock-ish 265/75 would've handled better or even a 255/85.
