    Bouncy Seats...

Gen II bouncy frames exist, but they are rare in the yards during my travels.

    Bouncy Seats...

The seat bases occur in wrecking yards from time to time. I buy nearly all the ones I find, if I have $$. They work in vehicles with a flat floor and enough head space.

    Bouncy Seats...

The BoUnCy SeAt is a spring-damped, load adjustable seat base that fortunate Montero owners can equip their vehicles with. I have installed them in my home fleet of Monteros and 1 Raider. I have acquired one Gen II bouncy seat base and passed it along to another user, as I generally stick to...

    ford question

On the side of the 6.8L V10 gas, loved it! I had an '06 F350 supercab shortbed 4x4. In town, the mileage was poor, same as on the road...but better than that of my new 3.7L V6 Dodge Dakota!

The front wheels are likely a product of Stockton Wheel, in Stockton, CA. These wheels, and the outside rear, are coated with a black polyurethane coating. http://www.stocktonwheel.com/ Russell

Just so this board is aware, too...

Hello all, I have a little wrecking business with the intent of helping to keep the Gen I Montero and Dodge Raider (1983 - 1991) models operating. I have parts from seven Monteros that I've already hauled off and 2.5 other parts vehicles. I have shipped internationally, mostly small things, but...

Should I ditch the auto hubs for manual?

If you're going to attempt welding the auto hubs, you should just switch to the Gen II flanges...easier and probably tougher. Just a thought.

I have two full size rigs: My 83 Chevy Lindy setup to tow my Raider, lived in for almost a year for my new job. My 88 Chevy K30 that needs a plan. Russell

    Fish Tacos

I have used both tilapia and whiting for fish tacos. My wife doesn't care much for garlic, but I typically marinade the fish in either garlic cheesy salad dressing or a teriyaki-type sauce. After 2 - 3 days of marinade, I bake the fish. Serve with pico de gallo, cilantro and a buttered flour...

Should I ditch the auto hubs for manual?

The Gen I mitsu auto-hubs do not stay engaged like the Gen II drive flanges, when in proper working order. I don't think they are necessarily 'bad' but the manual hubs are generally preferred. Paul (plh) is selling new Chinese knock off Aisin hubs. You can locate factory Aisin hubs from time to...

    Hi-Lift Jack in a receiver hitch ???

Yes, dropping load unless you keep your hand on the handle. As I have 2 jacks, this hasn't been a real problem, was just poking fun at my real versus fake Hi-Lift. I've replaced the pins, springs, and such twice with no performance change, some assembly could be misaligned.

    Hi-Lift Jack in a receiver hitch ???

I have a real Hi-Lift that is a piece of doo doo and a fake Hi-Lift that is awesome. One drops the load, the other holds it up. I have used them primarily to reposition vehicles in my yard when parking was tight and the vehicle was otherwise disabled. I've used the receiver hitch and or D-rings...
