You can also use a switch that has a circuit breaker. My point with the spiking and fire is simply your safety. We all like the thought of continued posts from our online acquaintances and happy wheeling experiences. On my first light installation, I used a pair of ******** Cepek 150W lamps on my...

    Confess your glove fetish here

I have some Carhartt microsuede lined gloves to drive my truck during the cold mornings. :ylsmoke: For regular work duties, I use a variety of FG brand gloves from Home Depot. Though not fancy like the ones you describe above, I have several pair that I rotate for different purposes.

    Offroad lights

One reason to use a switch activated relay is to keep the power loss to a minimum. The other reason to use a relay is safety. At present, you have full battery amperage in the switch. A spike could cause a fire. When I've had my Cibié Super Oscars wired up, I didn't use less than No. 10 wire to...

I know, 35 inch tires = regear but.....

Not that I recommend anything, just stating something. The 5.29 gear set is the lowest Mitsu gear.

I know, 35 inch tires = regear but.....

Can you say... 5.29? One of the axles above can use the really low gears.

Any Ex-Jeep Guys Miss Their Jeep?

I've had three Jeeps: a 1975 Cherokee Chief with 401, 1983 DJ-5N with a computer carb, and a roller M1070 military ambulance. The Cherokee would run fantastic until the distributor mount loosened and it retarded the timing to a stall. The Postal was just plain crap. The ambulance was sold for...

1988 Chevy K30 Service Body - Needs New Home and Love

My Chevy K30 has been languishing far too long and there is no hope for project $$ in the foreseeable future, as I have teenage kids, a new house and ranch. More pics: http://s236.photobucket.com/albums/ff112/rxinhed/Big%20Red%20Chevy/ I have much more money in this project than I expect out...

    Mail Jeeps

I put 10k miles on a 1983 DJ-5N. Very scary car! I was turned round twice simply braking through an intersection corner. It was noisy on the freeway. The doors become projectiles if you liked to drive with that 'open' air feeling. With doors, I could not run larger than a 235/75-15 tire. Best...

    Bouncey seats?

A bouncy seat base acts as tertiary suspension directly under the driver's rear end. You might be able to make a Gen II piece work, but a Gen I piece is unlikely.
