Why would the company that is building the #BEST4X4BYFAR choose the build it with 19" rims standard knowing that there are very few off-road tire selections? Or make it where the 18" rims can only come with 1 engine choice?.....Is it possible that their priorities are somewhere else?
Just...
This just seems to me like another guy who is being nit-picky because he paid a lot of money for this- does he not know that this Defender drove across Namibia!?! ;)
I beg to differ- I have no doubt that Rubicon owners have a much higher use rate of their 4x4 systems than LR. No doubt, there are people who bling out the Jeeps etc... but it doesn't take much scrolling on any Jeep forum or a visit to any trail system to understand that Jeep Wrangler owners use...
It's one of the things that is just so completely true about them here as well- roaming the Starbucks. About the most you'll see one using 4x4 is when it snows and the families are headed to Vail. I can honestly say I've only seen 1 LR on the trail my 4 years roaming the backwoods of Colorado...
It seems that the definition of trolling on this thread for some people has grown to mean anyone who has a negative opinion of the Defender- which is odd not just because it includes way more than what would normally be considered trolling anywhere else on the internet, i..e. negative opinions...
I've got no issue with vigilance around personal attacks as a moderator- we should be talking about the Defender and not each other personally. I've been debating @DieselRanger on the Defender since before this thread even began and he's never once insulted me. I respect his engineering...
Does anyone know why the winch kit is removed when you add the "A-Frame Protection Bar"? Is it because the A-Bar can already mount a winch or are the two not compatible?
It does look better with the factory bull bar- I think the front-end protection option would look good with the winch as well, but I don't think you can do both; at least not per the website.
These proportions looks good- too bad LR didn't care enough about off-road to make this the normal operating height from the factory- kind of shows you what could have been- maybe their special vehicle team will do something meaningful. I wonder what these tires will look like in normal ride...
That's one of the things that drove me to a Wrangler- it's charm. We test drove the Discovery, the Land Cruiser- none of them have the Character and Spirit of the Wrangler. I think Land Cruiser's are just boring- in a well-engineered way- don't get me wrong, if I didn't have the Rubi that's what...
Completely agree that LR continues to innovate- they just don't prioritize the off-road world. If you honestly think they do isn't it kind of sad that after years of innovation they still can't outperform off-road technology that has existed for decades?
Completely Agree!- The interior on the new JL is as nice as you could ever really want in anything your actually going to use off-road. The driving dynamics are significantly improved- if Jeep would just get an engine with some get up and go! The 2.0 Turbo is adequate and I'm sure the diesel...
I agree with you- The statement about Jeep innovating is within the context of putting off-road first, unlike LR who innovates, yes, but does not prioritize off-road ability. Jeep stays true to it's core- the Mojave is a great example of that- it probably rides better than any Wrangler ever- is...
I kind of feel for the LR guys on here- Jeep just continues to innovate; constantly putting and making clear that off-road is first, whereas LR is all about some etherial concept of esoteric design. It'd have to be hard to watch your brand which you clearly love to just continue year after year...
Not sure how I feel about meeting up in the woods with someone from the internet who has insinuated that I can't drive, didn't get a fair price on my Jeep, and insist on calling me a troll, but thanks for the offer!
