Even more Utah.
Hole in the rock road (to some slot canyons - which I found that I couldn't do... way to claustrophobic, but my wife and 11yr old had fun)
And the Burr Trail, which I've been wanting to travel for some years - super cool. Did it on my B-Day
18*F in the AM (yeah, Diesel...
More on Utah.
Through Capital Reef (South Draw 'Rd'). I knew this would be at least a dirt road, but it turned out to be pretty serious 4x4ing... lot of tripods and 2-wheel teetering (some next to near-cliff edges with zero line choice due to the narrowness of the trail). No pics of the...
Just an FYI to Jupiter58 - I've done both Engineer and Cinnamon passes in our '17 4x4 Sprinter - no real issues. Good times!
And cool report moto-treks! I've been through lots of these places in CO and WY, but need to get to the NM trails and definitely more in MT (such an awesome place)...
Some images from our quick spring trip in May '21 to Bear Ears in southern Utah. Butler wash, Comb ridge/wash, Valley of the Gods, Snow Flats Road.
Such a cool area with a lot to explore. We'll be back!
But I want to see images here! (whining)
Seriously, FB and IG have taken a huge toll on enthusiast web sites. All my 'geek boards' (as I call them) have shown less activity over the last 5+yrs as people just sit on FB groups. As one without a FB account, and with obviously no desire to join...
Just a note on kids. I have two myself, 18 and 11, and I would say that you should consider the kid as a FULL SIZED adult. don't make the mistake of thinking that the little kid can fit wherever - they grow! My 11 yr old is as tall as my wife, and will likely be as tall as me (6'2") in <4yrs...
Long weekend in the van. Over Cottonwood pass (now fully paved...boo), then off-road to a dispersed site near Taylor Lake for a night. The next day, south through Lake City to Mill Creek campground for a few days. Over Cinnamon Pass, then home through Glenwood Springs (and an evening soak)...
I've seen the CCV top on high top Sprinter 4x4 here in town (CCV isn't too far away), so yes they do it. Poor quality picture attached.
Another point is that the CCV topper is pretty tall in itself, adding not only weight up high but also more surface area. I think the CCV tops are close to...
Never that type of catastrophe in any Adv-vehicle of mine, but I keep my water simple (7ga containers, lashed down - just close the spout and keep it pointed up). Running water would be nice though...
I did have something similar occur in my house. The water line into the back of our fridge...
Long weekend at the Sand Dunes in southern CO with our 11yr old and some friends, then over Medano pass on the way home. We ran Medano E to W a few years ago, but this time we ran W to E (and every year is different on these trails).
Hedy did fine over the pass, which includes some really...
Super sweet man!
Love the fabric.
When are you throwing on some meaty tires?
How long is the bed in that East-West config?
Edit: and you should drive it out to CO this summer!
