    Bradshaw Trail...February 6th,7th,8th,and,9th

It's 1-900-.... opps wrong number. :ylsmoke: It was a very hard call to make and I truly hope for everyone who is going that the weather forecast is totally wrong. I was caught once where we came into camp late evening with rain in the forecast. Woke up the next morning on the wrong side of...

    Bradshaw Trail...February 6th,7th,8th,and,9th

Well... as much as we hate to do this, we are going to cancel our trip. I have been checking the weather all week and now they are forecasting thunderstorms for Saturday with rain starting Friday night. This is up in the Indio and Blythe areas. For San Diego they are talking rain starting...

    Problem with SPOT tracking

Nope, not an issue with email spam. Even when I check our SPOT page, which shows you messages and locations on the map, no tracks ever show up, only our OK messages. I think another call to SPOT is in order. Didn't you have a problem with yours? I thought I recall you getting yours replaced.

    Problem with SPOT tracking

Yes, I actually did a 150 mile trip, about 50 offroad. This was the second time I tried and was quite disappointed when I did not have tracks from the trip. The third time we took it around town and nothing. I even had my PDA phone so I could check for emails and nothing came through.

    Problem with SPOT tracking

Hi everyone. I am hoping someone can tell me what I am doing wrong or if my SPOT is defective. I have now tried this on 4 occations and have yet to get the tracking function to work. I am signed up for the tracking service and it shows in our account and I verified with SPOT. I am able to...

    basecamp vs roming camp

For me personally, I did base camping for years when I owned OHV's. I really got tired of always coming back to the same place or limiting how far I could explore since I always needed gas to get back to camp (atv or dirt bike). Now that we have a street legal rig and a camp trailer, I have...

    Question regarding dropped axle, flipped?

Thanks guys for the reality check. I have been debating lifting the Kamparoo, not because it needs any more clearance (actually has more then my Cherokee) but because I wanted to run the same wheel/tire combo. Down side is it will make it more top heavy due to a higher CG and will make...

    Question regarding dropped axle, flipped?

Our Kamparoo is already a straight axle, spring over setup. The current tires are 26" tall and I want to put the matching size of our Cherokee, which is 31". I already have a spare set of matching wheels and correct size tires. This would keep all of the wheels/tires the same between the...

    Question regarding dropped axle, flipped?

I was checking a thread on NAXJA and one person was using a dropped axle but flipped over so it became a raised axle. Here's the pic, Is this a workable solution? It would surely save me a lot of hassles with putting matching wheels/tires onto our Kamparoo without doing a full suspension...

    What protection for '99 XJ?

Highly recommend rock rails and have been very happy with AJ's http://www.ajsoffroadarmor.com/products-rockrails-super.php Next recommended item would be extraction points, either a good front bumper that tie into frame rails (not just the stock bumper mounts) or the full factory style tow...

    Bradshaw Trail...February 6th,7th,8th,and,9th

Based on our El Camino Del Diablo trip, definitely with enough time to have some daylight. Our first night we got to camp later then I hoped and did all this in the dark, even though it was before 6pm. The second night we were at camp about 4pm, which gave us time to setup, explore the rocks...

    Solenoid Problem?

In reality this type of solenoid is known as a "Ford Starter Solenoid". I can be used as a continuious duty solenoid that would have a large current flow that would not be handled by a typical relay. The drawback to this solenoid is it takes much more current to keep it activated unlike a...

    2001 DW- At a Loss!!

I think you are not seeing the whole picture here. Does a SS "NEED" to be there? NO! Will the general public accept having the steering wheel pulled from the grip when they hit a large pot hole, rock, etc.? No. It's not about cost savings but what the public will accept and buy. The SS is...

    2001 DW- At a Loss!!

Based on everything I have read and 25 years of working with suspension related stuff, I agree with everything Fergie is saying. A SS is a "comfort" item and not a requirement. It lessens the shock the driver feels and in turn, is less tiring to drive. I have driven many vehicles that do not...

Square hole for ARB type switch.

Holy crap, 3/16" plate to hold a switch. And I thought I way overbuilt things... :ylsmoke: At that thickness, I would break out my plasma cutter and a straight edge. I would drill the corners first, then use a square file after the straight cuts were done, to square up the corners.
