I use an ABS pipe for my tent poles and wrap them with a piece of cloth...no rattle. I put the glued receiver and threaded caps on each end. Already had the Front Runner awning brackets to attach the pipe to.
Tide comes in twice in 24 hour period, good he didn't do this at night when no one could see him and come to his aid. Corrosion control is uppermost about now.
I would try using the type of clear plastic that is used for convertible roofs and sewing it into a fabric frame that can be attached with velcro or sewn to the rain fly and with seam sealer to have an adequate 'envelope' for flexible solar panels. Several companies make them and are available...
I have two very similar that I got off a mil surplus site for $39 ea. I don't think I would take anything this heavy backpacking.
they are now less https://www.sportsmansguide.com/productlist/camping/cots-air-beds/cots?d=117&c=423&s=436
It is called Kamp-rite
Just had 265/65/18 mounted on new steel rims from Terafirma (through Atlantic British) to replace the 255/55/19 tires on stock LR3 (2007) rims. Looks quite different and rides nice, no appreciable road noise and nothing is rubbing. Ride height is OK but now have to put it in access height to get...
Considering installing a Magnaflow exhaust system on my 07 LR. Any words of wisdom of things to beware of before I order this system?
I have a random backfire and I cannot diagnose the problem. It may be one of the cats, not sure.

I use a second (integrated into the system through a battery isolator/charger) battery and a Blue Sea fused box to take all my aux items from. That way I can have the ARB on all the time and each additional item is fused and separately switched.
We have decided to use water bricks. At $18 each, holding 3.5 gal and portable they weigh less than a full Scepter can and fit behind the seats in the LR just right. Installing a permanent tank in the vehicle does not work for me. Only way I would want a permanent tank is if I could put a round...
Did find some quick drying briefs, by Adidas available at Penny's, also on Amazon for a few dollars less. Have tested them at home and usually dry within 6 hours or less, so overnight would be ideal...
Got my REI dividend and went to the store for some Marmot 'rain pants' for my upcoming trip to Norway. I will be with a group of other American tourists so 'standing out' isn't my issue. Got the pants for a bit of drizzle protection and to help the other pants drier. They fold up small and are...
