I have never in my life used studded tires and so far I haven't died or become hopelessly stuck in a ditch. I actually found the article mentioned when I was trying to figure out why so many people around here do use studded tires. I could just never see how a tiny little bit of metal in the...
There is nothing wrong with the batteries being "part of the equation". That is what they are there for. Everything runs off of the battery and the charger maintains the battery as-needed. Any decent modern charger is smart enough to monitor the battery and charge it at the best rate.
I do use hub-centric wheel adapters on my trailer in order to accept the hub-centric wheels (and convert from 1/2" studs to m12). I'm not sure about the spacing but I've been alright for about 3000 miles on the trailer so far.
Read the article. It outlines research done by several state governments that show studded tires only have benefit on clear ice between 32 and 0 degrees F and increase stopping distances on dry roads.
I'd rather go with documented science than anecdotal evidence.
There are no real benefits to studded tires and quite a few drawbacks. Read this: https://www.outsideonline.com/2359001/studded-tires-winter-car-prep
From the article: " Nowhere does consumer perception lag further behind on-the-ground reality than in the car world. And that’s a problem...
It might sound like overkill but I have learned that a CPAP is the ultimate solution to this problem. I've got heated air being pumped directly into my nose from the outside so I can *completely* bury myself in the covers if need be. No cold nose or cheeks! Us folks forced to rely on a machine...
I have a Noco Genius 10x2 charger in my trailer. It has selectable charging profiles for FLA\AGM\Lithium so you can continue to use it if you ever decide to upgrade\change your battery chemisty. My particular unit will charge 2 separate batteries but they make a single battery unit as well (as...
I use this:
It isn't the fastest but it's fast enough and I have to carry it to air up anyway. No extra parts specifically for airing down and I can easily vary the pressure around the rig (e.g. I generally set front tires, rear tires, and trailer tires to different pressures according to usage).
I haven't had any trouble with my spare tire "on top" of my Taco (with the exception of a couple small tears in the cover caused by wayward branches...) The spare is well within the load rating of my rack and the weight is really close to centered between the axles. To be fair though I *only*...
For this reason, I don't carry anything on the rear bumper except a license plate. Hanging out, levered over the rear axle is not the best place for weight...
I run matching BFG KO2s in LT275\70\17 (E-rated) on both my truck and trailer. Seems to work fine.
Why would it make a difference if the tire were on a TT as opposed to being on a truck\car\anything else?
Item 4 - Wheel Adapters
I know this one is a long shot but hey, maybe someone can use them...I messed up the measurements when I ordered these so they are no good to me.
Made in USA by US Wheel Adapters
Hub-centric adapters will fit TRD wheel.
6x5.5 to 6x5.5
1.25' thickness
1/2 studs on hub...
Item 3 - Camp Kitchen
REI Camp Kitchen - circa 2014
Great little kitchen setup. Gently used. Don't need it anymore...(believe it or not I already gave this away once and it came back to me...)
Item 2 - Jockey Wheel
Fulton XLT 1500lb
Again, came with my trailer and was immediately replaced. Shown attached to the mount that came with the trailer.
*EDIT* - These items have all been taken. Thanks!
I'm getting ready to relocate and need to get rid of a random assortment of things. If you are interested in any of these items and can pick them up in Missoula, MT prior to May 1 then they are yours for the taking. If I don't get any takers...
Not sure when you got yours or which version it is but ours did not have that capability (purchased late 2019). That being said, they do update\add features pretty often.
I'm a little thrown by the comments about metal plates\bowls stealing heat from food. How long does your food spend on the plate before you eat it? My stainless steel bowl full of freshly boiled ramen has never cooled down fast enough, let alone too fast...
I've watched some of their videos before and generally like them but in this video they seem to be camped literally right next to a river. Why would you need to conserve water in that situation?
