    Death wobble...?!

Yeah, I have access to a free lift and I'll be using it sometime in the next few days.

What a beauty, so sorry to hear. :(

    Death wobble...?!

Hmm, only reason I ask is because about half of them felt loose and half felt tight. I guess it's a moot point until I get this thing up on stands look at them.

    Death wobble...?!

I banged on all the linkages with my feet and a rubber mallet. Nothing is moving in the slightest. Lug nuts on BOTH front wheels feel loose... Do Rover lugs have caps that have some free-play? If not that might be my issue. I sure hope I didn't damage the bolts or the flanges.. I'll be kicking...

    Death wobble...?!

My girlfriend was driving my Rover down I95, with me following in my old Mercedes. Suddenly I start to see the back end of the Rover shudder strangely... and then I get into the left lane to see the front left wheel wobbling so hard it looked as if it could fly off at any moment. She clearly...

    My new-to-me 6.2L Disco

Yeah, I can't quite get 450... but hitting that 400 mile mark with the kind of RPMs (i.e. "mixed" driving) you'd expect in expo-style conditions is nice. It's hard to go 400 miles without seeing any fuel in the U.S. unless you really design your trip that way. I remember the 220-mile gas...

Stiffer Rear Springs For a Discovery

Yeah, I'm running OME XHDs front and rear and while my truck is more sure-footed than stock, the ride can be jarring when I'm light and on poor roads.

    My new-to-me 6.2L Disco

Just a quick comment on that: Diesel right now around here is between $4.09 - $4.39/gallon. I'm barely coming out ahead -- if at all -- in a cost-per-mile scenario. I think over the long run, including regular maintenance schedules, etc., this motor will prove more robust and durable... but...

    My new-to-me 6.2L Disco

Update on the 6.2L Disco: Crossing 4k miles on my ownership period. Alternator belt failed, but found out that v-belt sizes on this motor are a subject of controversy and can lead you astray. Found the correct belt for my application and no issues since. PM me if you want a no-****...

    The ultimate D1... t-shirt...

Yep, got it from Rovers North for 20 bucks or so... they use an external Cafe Press link, but the screen-print is very good quality along with the t-shirt. They have a bunch of styles for different LR models. I bought two shirts and thought the price was a little high ($48 shipped)... but for a...

Anyone remember the US-based Camel 110?

I posted this one in Vehicles for Sale (it's not mine, obviously) Check out some of the comments... "Oh, that is so overpriced!" "It's not as good as my XJ!" "How do you know it's real??" Uh, it's 100% documented, like the seller says... Sigh. Am I the only one that thinks that particular...

    classic range rover diesel conversion

Hmm, the R380 mated to my 6.2 GM rows through the gears like a dream. I haven't had any issues in 4k miles of mainly city driving, other than clutch-plate chatter at idle... which is fine, because I used to be a Ducati guy :)
