That looks sharp. I like those wheels, those are OEM?

    2022 Ford Ranger

The 99-11s had a really shallow bed. And the 08-11 were a bit lower from factory due to shallow blocks and different torsion bar settings. The bed was narrow and short. The cab even in SCAB form was a 2 person and gear cab, not sit 4. The RWD/4WD drivetrain was really the only sell, outside of...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

My friends truck has been in for the death rattle sound on cold starts, and other issues I don't have the info infront of me. I've not known anyone personally to achieve the insanely great fuel economy in an EcoBoost, be it a first or second gen 3.5. My NA 3.7 cyclone is also a pig on fuel...

The full sized mid-size, my 2014 F150 "Fiddy"

Somebody makes an IWE delete kit and if I recall it leaves the hubs engaged permanently. With oversized tires I imagine I'll notice the fuel economy drop.

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

Here is active recalls for my friends 2017 3.5 with 10 speed. I'd personally go 2.7 PP but I'm also not intending to ever tow more than 5000# or haul more than 1800-1900#. Note that much of these aren't specific to the 3.5 though.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Electric Truck

Canada's ford website still doesn't have much for details when I checked last week I'm still pissed off that for such a claimed "progressive" government we don't have any tax incentives for electric vehicles like the USA has, on top of our useless dollar and brutal price discrepancy on vehicles...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

I'd guess no. Buddies 2017 has been in three times under warranty for phaser and chain type issues. But it seems almost hit and miss, some guys 100k no issues other guys issues early on

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

Had enough of the Chevy already? I'd go 2.7 with payload package, 9.75 rear end instead of the super 8.8, heavier GVWR. 2018 I'm pretty sure all three had the ten speed and only the 3.3 NA had the 6R80 as a carry over until 2021

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

Not having locker or big fuel tank or brake control in a sr5 is a real Nissan type of move if that post is correct. I'm fine with small screen or lower HP, I don't like gadgets or big screens. I like dials and buttons. I drive a 300 HP NA V6 right now, and I'm still here. And 18-20 liter per...

Ford SOHC 4.0 V6 engine RE: Timing Shenanigans

Your parents certainly loved you as a child and raised you right.

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

So Toyota guys, what does the SR5 generally add over a base model? Is that sort of like Ford's 301a and 302a option packages on a vanilla XLT? Usual power options like windows and locks, and maybe a better interior fabric and leather steering wheel sort of thing? The double cab SR5 TRD being...

Ford SOHC 4.0 V6 engine RE: Timing Shenanigans

That issue was related to transverse packaging. The "fix" was a weep hole so you maybe noticed before the second seal went, assuming you ever popped the hood. In longitudinal packaging it's not an issue AFAIK

Ford SOHC 4.0 V6 engine RE: Timing Shenanigans

Seems like something ford would engineer. I don't know the maintenance intervals on that engine despite having owned an 08 Ranger But I'd imagine even if it said "replace timing chain(s) guide and tensioners at 200k, once people see what's involved it's not going to happen.

The full sized mid-size, my 2014 F150 "Fiddy"

Ok so, focusing on vacuum hubs/system, spark plugs, and front end. If no surprises in going to spoil myself and replace my chrome grille. I know it's not functional, but it would be nice to have a feel good item. Most of the stuff I've seen out there either involves cutting or is meant for a...

    2021 F150 vs F250

I'm worried my lead frame on my 14 is going to catch me by surprise. Isn't the issue the gasket is under par and metal filings get in and short out contacts or solenoids? And the 36 gallon tank is the best thing ever! After having that so many other trucks are out of the running by not offering...

I drive my work van all the time so the Fiddy has been mostly sitting since 2018. I think I've put on less than 30k in the last 3 years.

The full sized mid-size, my 2014 F150 "Fiddy"

With Covid inflation, the hilarious lack of value from the Canadian dollar, multiplied by how extra useless living in central Canada is, realistically I'll not be able to afford a new gas F150 for at least 3-4 years. Instead, I've focused on a 3-4 year plan for adventures, as currently...

    Raptor Overlanding?

Tacoma is 45-50k in central Canada. More right now because of Covid. Raptor is 90-100k prior to this nonsense. Ift guess there isn't any here now because we are farming peasants. I have no follow up other than I'm drunk and hate living here.
