As I'm not a Toyota guy, what's the reasoning behind north america in general not getting the same running gear etc as the rest of the world?
As well, why are certain vehicles not offered here, but are basically everywhere else?
When do we start chanting Power Wagon and clapping our hands?
I'm also amused that gas is $1.319 a liter here in Loserpeg and higher in other parts of Canada (and approaching Canadian prices in some US states and we are like
"****** it, full siz and big tires, full send"
Has the information been released on what size the front and rear differentials are?
Reading on the newer Armada/infinite builds that are on here suggests the full size units went with little difs, especially up front.
Is the Frontier running legacy differentials?
And if so, what tire size can...
Was there an ETA on fuel economy ratings?
Not that 6000# trucks are going to ever be stellar, but multiple more gears and likely increased aero has to be doing some favors.
Ah.
Yeah he stirred the pot over in the Toyota page which was kind of rude.
Toyota Landcruiser is a huge fanboy for Toyota tho, so I can totally see how that escalated.
That's going to be a tight fit. There are guys running 285s but I'd go with the narrowest you can.
I do believe the spare tire well lid will sit an inch up with a full size spare and u have to remove everything else from the spare fell to fit it.
As usual Ford shock offerings are garbage for top dollar. With a bunch of "optional extras".
However the standard 35s are something. Outside of CAFE in the half tons, I do not understand metric 33s on the larger trucks.
Power Wagon should be 35s stock.
Offroad half tons should be large 33s...
Regionally there are large price differences. Many thousands more for a 7.3 truck locally (not including the fact they don't exist right now)
Also not sure why ford sticks the six speed on the 250 with 6.2 but the ten with the 350.
What gears does your friend have?
OP your stated use and not caring about fuel economy for DD suggests a power wagon would be fine.
I'd personally lean towards an F250 with 6.2 and rear locker and put on tires of your choice, but can understand your apprehension with Ford, as they do generally try to ignore known issues if they...
In regards to the half ton towing wars, almost nobody has a truck in real life configured for the max tow rating.
Like who is running out buying a regular cab Long box XL 2wd just to brag their truck can tow 12xxx lb?
Once you start getting above 10k, If you are towing that with any frequency...
Thanks!
So quick math is your offset has the wheel out 2.2" further than stock. Realistically an aftermarket wheel offset slightly positive would negate the exposure of tread past the wheel well.
In your opinion under articulation of your wheel was say 1"-2.2" inwards, would your current tires...
Ye Olde square wheel wells of the Chevy make them a bit fussier. The rule of thumb was on stock offset you could run a 33 with a 2" level.
Even with some milder aftermarket offsets as well.
I'm unfortunately not as familiar with that body style Chevy to say 100% but I think you would be OK on...
Isn't the coyote an evolution of the modular V8s in prior generations?
You would think Ford could figure out cam phasers and timing chains by now.
This thread has me leaning back towards a 6.2 F250 rather than a new F150, despite a super duty being complete overkill for my uses
