    INEOS Grenadier

Releasing manuals and tech details and procedures instead of keeping everything a secret is a good start. As well, designing things with serviceability in mind, if actually the case, is fantastic. HVAC systems (small ones anyways) are less complicated than a motor vehicle, but that's my...

    Tire Options

I should clarify that if it's deeper snow the tires are fine. It's the hard smooth stuff they suck. It also tends to be -20 Celsius here so the rubber is pretty hard and not pliable. It's enough that is consider a second set of actual winter tires if I drove the truck frequently anymore.

    Tire Options

I have 34x10.5R17 KO2s on a 14 F150 and while they are good in snow, they are not what I consider good on ice or polished hard pack. For example on a mild incline of polished hard pack and ice from a stop I couldn't get going in 2wd even with a limited slip. The truck just slowly moved sideways...

    INEOS Grenadier

As mentioned by Chasingourtrunks, BMW dealerships are 6+ hours apart in central/western Canada. I can't imagine having to be so limited in places that can work on the vehicle and in classic Winnipeg fashion, not have any parts in stock ever.

    Jose's Simple 2019 F150 Build

You are making me want to buy wheels for my truck with those methods. Seat covers help get more miles out of the interior, but they need to be comfortable while you sit in them. Any trips recently?

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

My truck was $40400 sticker and I paid $31988 or something. Last year a 50k truck was realistically 40ish. Tundras have not been anywhere near 40k where I live. Far North of that. They start at 47k for whatever entry model double cab is currently. On a normal year the more or less equivalent...

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

I meant it's bad in the way that browsing trucks online unless the window sticker with GVWR is available, just configuration doesn't give you an idea of what the payload on that particular truck is. If Ford is going to drop incentives going forward, it certainly makes Toyota pricing more...

Options and configurations for E series Van 4x4 build

Maybe we can get a mod to move this to the van sub forum, probably more guys will see this there.

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

Nobody knows yet if Toyota is going to have a wide range of real world payloads across all the trims based on options packages though. Just because the online specs quote X payload in a certain trim and cab/bed arrangement doesn't necessarily mean that's what it will have Ford is bad for that...

Don’t Give Up on The “Dependable” Nissan Frontier Just Yet

Yeah that ring gear seems small for a 33" tire and 20 inch rim on a vehicle that heavy and powerful.

Rivian R1T (pickup) vs. R1S (SUV) for "overlanding"

Outside of towing our trailer for road trips or even some of our longer distance long weekend trips, the Rivian could do everything, for a personal vehicle. My gas 3.7 F150 is my former fleet vehicle for work, which currently does tow duty and otherwise usually doesn't go anywhere. In theory...

Rivian R1T (pickup) vs. R1S (SUV) for "overlanding"

from what I can tell the F150 isn't on the list of electric vehicles that qualify for Canadian tax grants. As well we have a price cut off of $55k, so vehicles that don't seat seven that cost more than 55k don't qualify for incentives. The Rivian started at 90k Canadian and I did click on...

The full sized mid-size, my 2014 F150 "Fiddy"

The usual softroading camping trip for hunting this weekend. But the temps were anything but! We left the surveyor tent at home along with the stove because it was daytime highs of ... 27 friggen degrees Celsius!?!?!? In October? I'm Ron Burgundy? #globalwarming. In any case, got to try out my...

Recommendations for rechargeable LED lantern for table?

The Streamlight Siege is not at all a warm colour spectrum light. I own two and love them, but outside of some sort of shade it's a cold white light. I use mine on red most of the time. If they were warm spectrum I'd be stoked!

How did Voyagers/HBC Outfitters do it?

How did the classic Voyagers, Hudson's Bay company Outfitters, cowboys, gold miners etc all manage this lifestyle with the technology of their era? Specifically I refer to the wool blanket. For a natural fiber, wool seems to check the boxes. Durable, moisture resistant, flame resistant...

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Electric Truck

I believe what he meant was the range listed assumed the truck was carrying a load of 1000#, not that the payload capacity of the truck was only 1000# I could be wrong though. At least the F150 in the pictures posted has a more reasonable center screen.

Rivian R1T (pickup) vs. R1S (SUV) for "overlanding"

Just played with the builder online. In CAD my truck of choice cost more than my remaining mortgage. It's going to be a decade before regular folk can buy electric trucks and SUVs it seems. We can't justify $115k for any vehicle, nor comfortably afford that and we are in the higher median for...

    MPG: Ranger vs F150

Ouch. That's abysmal fuel economy. My 14 F150 got 16-17 in town when it was in fleet duty. Unless it was -20°C and colder then it got worse.

'21 Ford Ranger Lariat WHY NOT?

What's realistic range on the Rangers with some stock size or plus 1" aggressive all terrains? And what about when towing? I've been looking at the new Frontier and Ranger as unlikely but possible replacements for my F150 and just about choked when I saw a 68 liter tank on the Rangers. They...

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

There are less and less non Massive Auto Sales Chain dealerships in NA from what I can tell. Two or three family run dealerships I can think of disappeared in the last ten or twelve years here, bought up by corporate chains. I think that's a thing regardless of brand.
