amazing pics and great story telling, thanks for taking us along with you....
How I have never made it to DV is beyond me, I really really need to go visit and see it all for myself.
Thanks again
Great write up and once again I am kicking myself for not ever having made it from Phoenix to Death Valley....
I am glad you still post here and keep the trip reports section alive.
thanks!
I always thought it would be nice to have a bar that goes under the aluminum floor jack pad to the jack front axle that would lock it upright.
Then I would just be turning my jack into a jackstand.
On your device or software should be a screen to show how many satellites you are picking up and the signal strength.
Especially inside a vehicle you could be having issues with the device having a good view of the sky.
My best luck has always been with a small usb magnetic puck on the roof and...
Absolutely great write up Mikey....more than anything thanks for taking us inside your head for the mental side of things.
I am 47 and really want to semi-retire soon with some long trips and short trips spread through the year. Your report gives me some things to think about and watch the...
I love Baja and now want to explore this area of Mexico...
Good on you for taking the locals along in your rig, not living in fear these days is nice to hear.
My butt comfort is more important that parts breakage....especially when I am giggling like a little girl going fast on washboard.
I remember you telling me the data thing a few times Larry, oh well I am still going to go fast on the washboard :)
I have found that my custom leaf springs, Fox...
Your childern will hate the back seat....even my dog didn't like it.
No visibilty for anyone in back, sorry.
I did a ton of travel in mine, including Canada to Mexico on the Continental Divide for 24 days.
No one and I mean no one will enjoy sitting in the back unless they never look out...
oh crap I wish I had never seen this thread.
I have a 70 burb and I love the old school body style but miss the stand up space of my van. Now I won't be able to stop thinking about this conversion.
Jumping to your build thread to continue to painful process of planning ;)
I guess I am kind of old school....yeah I have paper of course, everyone should have paper & compass (and actually know how to use the compass with a map)
But on the tech side of things I mean I am old school in that my netbook works great with OziExplorer and Delorme Topo.
I run both at that...
I have started working from my "trail kit" as was recommended in this thread and I has helped show me what is missing.
Of course most folks have really nice home setups then just basics in the rig....
but the way I look at it, when I really NEED my tools, I want to know what I have, that it...
yeah I am going to put this one in the Darwin box and say you should not be within reach or direction of travel of anything with energy stored in it like a pull
Great write up and pics...
I love KofA and the surrounding area, never seem to have enough time to explore it all.
I agree with Mikey about your travel style and going slow vs rushing, nice job.
Nice to see that it is only little things you are having to deal with.
Great local outings too and please keep posting up even the day trips.
While my rig was down recently I had to live vicariously through everyone else's outings :)
Love it and sometime I will have to come up from Phoenix and...
Well between Mikey and I you have at least 2 rigs ready to roll for anything you lead :)
I am a fluent spanish speaker if that helps!
Plus we are in Arizona and you always need a reason to pick on us western neighbors
Great write up and pics, thanks for putting this is out for everyone to see.
thanks for posting and glad you had a great trip
I know it is easier to have a stand alone blog but many work servers won't let people see some stand alone blogs.
Shame you can't copy and paste your story here also
No matter what, thanks for letting us tag along on your adventure.
makes me want to road trip north and check it out...
too bad a manual trans as that wouldn't work for me...
and the roof wider than the body would bug me every time I looked at it...
interesting though and will be fun to see what it sells for
wow, very cool and it would be great to try and join you next year.
Just the coolness of doing what we love with folks from across the border and seeing how alike we all are would be very nice.
