So what rough date should I put on my calendar to remind me for next year....looks like a great event and way to run with locals to learn about future areas to explore.
Thanks for showing us mainland Mexico can be as safe and normal as the USA.
Thanks for the excellent lava tube pics....I did this route with my younger son but we missed those and looks like we really need to get back.
I like your go slow style vs banzai bash get it done
looking forward to more
thanks
Just got home from my short hospital stay and this is exactly what I need...
Your Utah trips with the kiddo, wife and dog are a huge inspiration for me to get out and play.
Thanks for taking all the great pics and for posting them for the rest of us to enjoy.
My boys are grown now but these...
Great family rig, thanks for being so honest along the way.
If I didn't have so much time and money into my suburban I think I would have the shorter wheelbase sprinter in my driveway in a heartbeat.
Please keep posting the trip post report and changes.
Thanks
Chris....
#1 Oh yeah brother Ghost Divide sounds very cool...never heard of it but you have my attention just with the name...
#2 It can't be crazy like your last trailer dragging, mud shoveling, road making Utah trip :)
Will be fun to run together and watch your van in action.
Oh and as for...
Yeah I am sure you feel more like my blue bomber has spent 4 yrs in your driveway :)
We really need to get back out into the dirt soon! Make all the work worth it.
Looks like I get to volunteer for another fun event...
Just confirmed with the folks in charge and double checked at work.
Fun way to shake down before helping chase for the NORRA Mexican 1000 later in April.
If you see this rig look for a guy with a fake leg and be sure to say hi...
2 days is perfect...
And running in reverse is fine. The river crossing is rarely more than axle deep but of course subject to flash floods and water release so please get out and look it over before plunging in.
Make sure to spend time at Swansea, use the bathrooms and read all the signs...
Actually when it comes to paper I have been using the Benchmark series here in the western US, same large book format, I just like the colors and info as a backup to my netbook nav.
Oh please NO, don't let Delorme and Garmin work together on anything.....
Garmin is still stuck way behind in the GPS device world. Look at their focus on stand alone devices and the price points.
Delorme at least understand that people use smartphones and they make sure there are apps to...
Great pics and writeup, thanks for taking the time each night to put down some notes...
You saw more whales than we did and I am pretty sure we were there in Guerrero Negro about the same time....also very cool to camp and hear them at night.
Glad the trailers worked well, highway time is way...
Totally agree on the pic quality...
I really wish I had your ability to remember all the geology stuff as you travel. Adds a neat dimension to it all.
Thanks to putting another Utah area on the map for me & the family to explore.
Very cool.
Great great pics and I like the writeup...
Thanks for going in Feb as I would never had thought to try it that time of year.
The couple of times I have done White Rim have been amazing and I wish we had gone as slow as you did and added in the hiking.
Thanks for the mention of the other trail...
What a great work/life balance...
Please please keep updating this thread so others can see you can have a job and an adventure with just a little effort put in..
Thanks and looking forward to more.
I have known Justin for a few years now and met his dad, the person who buys this rig will get a very well looked after ride.
Gotta throw out my vouch for these folks.
Good luck with the sale.
Great to see you guys enjoying this run, I love the Devils Highway...didn't know about a few of the things you found so looks like a fall return trip for me.
thanks for the pics and writeup
Well having been a fan of ANYTHING but Garmin for years I am not sure I am happy about this.
Been running Delorme Topo on a netbook for a long time, love my InReach and can't stand that Garmin has shunned the use of Mapsource on a laptop in a vehicle for years.
Oh well, since I can't afford to...
