Not too worried about that for the wheeling I like to do, desert and mountains. They fenders are nice and tight, and they are backed by some decent washers. If they tear out, I will fix em :jump:
I think a 3 or 4 link setup is killer on the trucks we drive, where we have to axles to contend with the terrain. However, on a single axle trailer the articulation that a 3-4 link provides isn't always what is best.
I would have to agree, this is one of the areas that an Indy suspension...
This is a great thought to discuss.
I am building a kitchen out the back of the trailer and I was wondering how this was going to work. We live and play in bear country (rocky mountains). And Martyn's totally right I don't think a trialer is even close to bear safe. They can pull car doors...
I used a JD2 bender with a square die. You are correct 1" tubing with 16ga wall. Light but strong in this application. thanks for the kinds words.
Rezarf <><
Got after the fenders today... not too bad, I like how they came out, and they should help if I flop it over.
I will need to trim the bottom edge of the tubing flush with the sheet but other than that they turned out strong and light... and they cover well too!:p

Here is my setup:
2 12v batteries
An on board 2 bank charger

Also, the 4 hours on one side thing is the absolute truth. Yesterday I experienced that exactly, I...
Thanks for the nice words fellas!
I ended up using Sikaflex, it is really great stuff, it has great initial tack for holding where you want it, without being unforgiving. It also has a long work time so you don't have to go crazy trying to get it in place, I would say you have about 30 min...
I have the front box built and the sides riveted and "glued" in place, I should be done with the sheet metal by the end of this weekend.

Nope, I have been doing lots of research on sealers and products for sheet metal panels in the auto body world. And there is LOTS out there for this exact application. I will however, have to seal the inside and outside seams to make it work, but it seems good. There are a lot of great acrylic...
Thanks for all the help with this, once I got the welder dialed in and I kept a good slow rate... I was able to avoid all warping.
I will still rivet a few panels in place, but will be welding most everything else.
Thanks! Here are a few shots of the progress.
