I love that King Kamper, from stop to total setup with the poles and canvas how much time does it take to set up? Looks like an amazing base camp style camping experience, definatly COOL!
Welding relatively thin material, like .125" wall tubing for instance, will warp, no matter how hard you try to keep it in place. From what I have read, controlling the warping is the hardest part of any suspension fabrication as it jacks around everything that started out square.

I am looking into the LED strips, that are waterproof, and flexable (though not really needed) they are droping in price, but their ability to light up a strip of lights is handy.
I think a few down the length of the trailer would be sweet. Especially if you rigged them to come on automatically...
I have also seen crude tanks made from daisy chaining a few sections of 6" PVC pipe sections. just another thought if you are going for something outside the box.
Thanks bud,
My local hardware shop has the install tool tucked away in the electrical section collecting dust, I asked about it today and walked out with one for 26 bones... score. It came with 5 mandrels so we will see how it goes. They said I could bring it back if I don't like it.
thanks...
Izzy-
How did you get the steering arm tool to work with your rivet nuts? I have been looking at the tools and zoiks! they are $$$$$.
I'd love to hear how you made them work with something on hand bud.
Thanks!
FYI, after I found and bought a water tank for my trailer, I found out that teardrop trailers make a sweet shaped tank for fitting between the rear wall of a teardrop and the galley. If layed flat, it would be the PERFECT size for a water tank under a trailer.
Hope it helps a bit, either way...
Great advice-
To make easy boxes you can source a few used truck tool boxes, they make great storage, you can save weight in aluminum, and if mounted side by side you would make, essentially, a double wide truck box with access from each side.
These are already weatherproof and strong... but...
My truck is leaf sprung... fj40.
That said, I didn't need some crazy high speed yet smooth articulating suspension. I don't drive fast on washboards as it is... if I was IFS, or even coiled I might consider something other than leaves but for now, it just doesn't make sense for my rig/trailer...
I like it!
You have heard of wildernest and the flip-pac (I think thats the name anyone?) haven't you?
Could be cheaper to find one of those, but it wouldn't be nearly as much fun as building one! We see the wildernest's pop up here on craigslist every once in a while for the 3-500 dollar...
