    Trailer build thread consolidated

UK- Looks nice, what size/brand battery are you going to run? You will need some beefy wire to connect the two so you don't have power loss between them, probably 4ga or so. I think it is a nice look and will definatly keep the wieght in the rear well. Well done mate! Rezarf <><

    Trailer build thread consolidated

I can't see why not. Are you going to have them inside or sitting outside in a battery box? If you use an AGM style you could perhaps stick them onto your chasis somehow? Do you have a side shot of your trailer as it sits, that might help us help you. :jump:

My scratch built expedition style trailer build up thread

Thanks guys... The main box is roughly 43" x 74" and it is 24" high. The front box is 18 x 38.5 x 10" high. Overall the trailer is like 10' long! :D The overall width is EXACTLY the width of my FJ40. The water tank is a 21 gallon poly tank that I got off ebay for a song. It will have a...

    tent material for self build

UK- I bought some Sunbrella fabric off ebay a few months back. I bought the black 60" wide stuff for a song. The dude I got my stuff from sells off the ends of the rolls from the factory. I inquired with them about the water proofness and got this response... "Highly water resistant, not...

Rivets or welds... can you help me out?

I am going to keep it at my house, but thanks Dave! IanB has a tig less than a mile from my house that I could beg him to weld this stuff up for me, but if I get the settings right on the welder it shouldn't be a problem.

Rivets or welds... can you help me out?

Thanks everyone, I knew I would get the best advice here. UK4x4, I only have a few panels that attach from the outside, most of the side panels and tailgate panels attach from the inside and I planned on using rivets on those from the start. Now I see the brillance of your two in tubing over...

Rivets or welds... can you help me out?

Well, after a long day of tacking and welding in my sheet metal on my trailers front box, I am at a cross roads. I am trying to figure out if I should weld up my sheet metal, or rivet it onto the tube frame. Pro's of welding: 1.Faster than the riveting. 2. Cleaner look than the rivets, easier...

    Trailer door locks

You can say that again, that is my theory now too. I could spend a decade trying to get everything just right, but like all my vehicles, I know I will mod this as I go. Shooting for fully functional by April 1.

Would I post here to try and organize a relay?

Maybe begin to see if any 4x4 clubs are in that area and see if they have a forum similar to this and start networking. Honestly, and I am sure you know this, but it seems like a long shot. Not to be Mr. Downer :o but it might be easier to hire a carrier and have it shipped. just my .02 :D
