    Saddleback Leather briefcase

I really like that bag and looked up the specs on the medium of 14x11x9... but I am trying to get a feel for how it would work and what it will really hold. Any chance of getting a pic open with maybe a laptop, books and a few odds and ends to see how it packs/hold stuff Thanks Lance

Look what's for sale next to my office...

I get that they were going Polar and didn't need a fridge....but I know my first mod would be to figure out where to put one :) $400,000 to build???????????? Now for only $90,000????? I doubt I would that paid $90,000 to build it and I know I wouldn't pay $40,000 for it now....would be...

How do you do your laundry when in far from society places?

Back in the early days of Expedition Portal & Overland Journal there was a great write up Graham Jackson (currently of Overland Expo fame) about his Defender 110 trek across Africa. He and the wonder Connie did their laundry using a standard orange water cooler jug on the roof rack if I remember...

67-79 F250 with modern engine swap is 15+ mpg possible?

If I was not alreay rocking my 70 Suburban I would build/buy that Blue Ford crew right there in a heartbeat....that is just too pretty and I love that vintage FoMoCo. Straight 6's are better engines than most people give credit for when used off road...great low end torque and good mileage.

Fitting Trucklite LED headlamps to a Defender

So for an easy drop in install for my 70 Suburban would the Trucklight Phase 7 be the best choice? I already plan to install a relay setup to take the load off my old light switch which I think will help any light I install. Great look on the Defender there by the way.

    Freightliner ambulance conversion project.

Holy Crapoly Bevan....Do you think you will have those wheels & tires installed by the Overland Expo? That would be amazingly quick and would make you a hit at the event. Wow what a way to get some lift to that big boy. Impressive difference in wheel/tire combo when you see it side by side.

    Freightliner ambulance conversion project.

great story and makes me glad I have a simple 4wd and don't have to risk popping a blood vessle to work on it Looking really cool and can't wait to see it in person again, especially at the Overland Expo where you will be a real crowd draw.

    How much is too much?

screen size makes a huge difference offroad... I use a 10in netbook and for glancing down & then back at the trail I am not sure I would go smaller than maybe 7in Plus using a netbook gives me so much more than just GPS PDF service files on my rig & equipment web research saved before I leave...

67-79 F250 with modern engine swap is 15+ mpg possible?

I am looking at topping my carbed chevy engine off with fuel injection (TBI) and I fully expect 15mpg in my 70 suburban....but I like going 60-65 mph Those 70's crew cab Fords are really nice and a great choice and I think with a Chevy crate motor (best deal in crate fuel injected setup) and a...

    Micro-Start XP-1

I bought one of these based on the comments by Mark -Crawer976 here on Expo and confirmed by Jonathan's review. Love it as a backup for the wife's car, my street truck (which my kids use and can leave radio/lights on with ease) and even my Suburbasarus camping rig. Even with big dual batteries...

    Carrying spares?

I only carry "trip stoppers" And since I drive an 1970 Suburban there aren't too many of those... Belts, HEI Ing mod, a couple of old spark plug wires & plugs from the last change out, front axle star washers...might add bearings, oil/trans fluids I don't wheel hard and even in remote Baja there...

    Awnings + rain/wind = disaster?

I have used my Hannibal awning on a few different rigs and as long as you have a quality roof rack you just can't kill this thing. over a foot of snow...check 6in deep pool of rainwater on it...check ability to zip on walls to make an enclosure...priceless Great awnings that are not cheap but...

    Suburban Expo Build

add dual batteries, fridge, solar panels and a sleep platform with storage under it and you are ready to head to Alaska... actually if you plan to drive everyday I would just add dual batteries and the fridge and figure out sleeping as you go... Most importantly don't get caught in the "build"...

    Tour de Swell

As always your trip report is worthy of a magazine article, tv show or something super cool as they make me want to grab my keys and go where you have been. The photos are the kind that bring me back to your trip reports when I am having a truly sucky day at work. Thanks so much for taking them...
