The recovery boards used hardware from Lucky 8, which is available on their site. The rest of the tracks appear to be equivalent to Thule aero bars, so anything that fits those should work too.
Lucky 8 has shown a prototype, but nothing for sale yet.
Why would being unibody stop the Defender from having rock sliders? Jeep XJ's have had them for decades.
Does anyone know where I can buy these stickers? Edit: found them - it's this guy, but it looks like he might be out of stock: https://www.facebook.com/born.wild.cz/
I HATE GERRY BECAUSE HE PUTS FORM OVER FUNCTION
goes on to spend 200 pages complaining about the form and making repeated errors about the function and backpedaling and ignoring reality when called out on it.
As long as my Defender can both drive off-road AND haul dead sheep in the back, I don't see why anyone would dare to think about using it for anything else
Motorhome + Jeep = camper and a vehicle you can run off road
Defender 2 + Trailer = camper and a vehicle you can run off road
I am having a hard time fathoming why you are unable to comprehend the comparison here. They both fit a common use case - one that is only fit by the Wrangler or the...
I actually ended up finding a Defender here in CA with most of the things I wanted, and bought it... but given how rare the off road pack seems to be I bet someone will jump on that soon!
You mean like that time you pissed and moaned about the spare not being on the rear door until I pointed out that there was a spare mounted on the rear door?
I am not surprised that you have forgotten most of the ridiculous false BS you've spouted in this thread, since you've been vomiting up...
You people are dense as can be.
- Tow camper to campground and leave it there
- Drive tow vehicle to interesting places
You might fantasize about months-long African safaris where you live out of your vehicle, but you're completely delusional if you think even a tiny percentage of any of...
People tow Jeeps behind their motor homes so they can go adventuring and leave their campers behind, and you are still completely incapable of fathoming why somebody would want an off road capable vehicle that can also tow things?
Your disingenuous arguments are wearing incredibly thin.
This sort of condescending know-it-all comment shows that you are just clueless.
The course was very clearly designed as a way to demonstrate specific aspects of Land Rover's vehicles to people who have not driven off road. It's basically the exact same kind of course Jeep runs at auto shows -...
Thanks! I mean, it's a Land Rover, so I think I'm contractually obligated to complain loudly the first time some ECU somewhere has a fault or there is a slight cosmetic blemish on the inside of the glove box, but I will hopefully be grinning and cracking jokes about it instead of shooting steam...
Maybe you mis-understood the target audience. Was the target audience "people who purchased the original Defender"? Because that audience was buying a few thousand a year. Was the audience "people who buy Jeeps"? Because that has not been the market Land Rover has played in for a long time...
That's a silly argument. Land Rover has been a leader in introducing new and innovative tech throughout most of their tenure as a company. To stop now would be to let others get ahead of them in one of the areas that has always set them apart. People whine about pretty much any tech on the...
I just picked up my Defender, and the mirrors lower slightly when I put it in reverse, to help see where the tires are going. It's absurdly unnecessary technology.
And you know what?
I love it.
I don't care if the mirrors cost me more to replace if I bust them on the trail one day. I don't...
I have never seen anyone "whining" about lack of tech in a car... they just buy a different car. The only "tech whiners" I see are the luddites in threads like this that insist their cars use janky, outdated, inefficient, old and busted systems for a modern vehicle manufactured by a high-end brand.
