So am I gonna have to be the one that says....." What only 3 pics so far?"....way more posted to facebook :)
Oh and who is with Scott in the Snowman pic? Come'on give us some info?
Also I assume this isn't a continuous 2 yrs of travel but that you will be coming home from time to time? 2 yrs...
Jonathan, thanks for checking with the Moon's, every review of their books is positive and I have looked over an older version and really like the style.
Flounder, that is crazy cool that you will put in those kind of miles while doing the Expo...I will be thinking of you as I relax in my camp...
OOOHHH trail drama....nice break from the trauma drama here at work :)
Great pics and your writing gives the sense of being there with you.
Looking forward to reading more
I have been holding off on a number of purchases so I can check out stuff at the Expo...and I really hope there will be some show specials and merch on site to take away.
Especially with our pending Oz trip I wonder if the Moon's will have any of their books with them?
basic question...are you male or female?
It does make a difference in the products aval and how you feel about them.
Good on you for wanting to get out and do more...now it is just a matter of figuring out the tool.
Bladder training is something to read up on.
External caths as mentioned...
very very cool....
and makes me jealous of the 80 series owners out there.
I was already thinking of taking my 70 suburban to Colorado Camper Van for a pop conversion, but this is really cool and makes me think there might be other options.
Ok I had to go back and reread things to realize you did this back in March....I was thinking you were nuts to head out in the current heat :)
As always a great start to one of your fine trip reports....looking forward to the rest of the story.
Sounds like a great time...we camped along the Rim Road last Sat night and drove out Sunday am....would have been fun to do it as a night run like you did. Oh and while I like your write up PICS would have been a nice bonus :)
I really like your setup on the Celica and I am looking forward to...
Great write up and pics...and nice that you include real world demos of them in action.
Now I have a question, based on your experience it is worth it to have 4 of them or would 2 be enough?
Any idea how much a set of 2 or 4 wgt?
thanks for taking the time to write this stuff up, many of us...
great looking setup but I gotta wonder if you really need 3 propane bottles? Even if you carry one that is a bit low you only need 1 other backup to cover quiet a few days of travel.
The grill on the stove is a cool idea.
I also use 1 pelican for gear & 1 for dry foods, works great and makes...
Great trip report and nice to see you out recharging the batteries :)
My son & I loved the Mojave Road and I know we will be back to run it again.
Good job capturing the little color there is out there and a bit of history also.
Looking forward to catching up with old friends and meeting some new ones.
I really miss Jonathan, Roseann, Chris M. and a bunch of the old crew, really hope to see them there.
Seems to me that Flagstaff will be a great location with plenty of area camping and the weather should be amazing.
I...
I really dig the way your getting this thing setup....
It looks like you might have room to move the battery back in front but I would leave it inside for a while and see what happens.
The legs look factory and I think the turnbuckle is a great idea for making sure things stay where you put...
great blog write up and I really dig that you were laughing through it all
That is a cool older car and I hope it can be saved
Also nice pics of the moto, looks like it was the best choice for the trip
Funny this thread should come up because my last few rigs have all had the criteria that I be able to sleep inside. And pretty much any rig in the future will be one that is a sleep inside setup
My current rig is a 1970 Suburban and there is plenty of room for me, the wife, the fridge, the kid...
Very nice to see your rig out on the wild where it belongs...looks like a nice mix of vehicles.
Question for you...is there a larger tank that you can fit? 15gal is very small for a thirsty v8 like you are running?
Then again great excuse to do the diesel conversion :)
Having owned a wide range of fridges here are my thoughts..
go for the 63 & a slide then build a drawer next to it and a platform over the top.
This would give you additional storage above the fridge whereas if you go for the 50 you won't get that space.
Also you get a deep drawer (or 2 shallow...
