4wd and if so by who
I had a Sportsmobile EB with Aluminess front & rear bumpers and a big box on the back along with a 35in tire. Never noticed a thing in the...
Dang Matt that would be too funny if you got yours on the road before me :)
I know I won't start on mine until we get back from Australia which means August. And I still have to source a block/longblock/complete motor as my block was way too cracked to use.
For know I will say that I am just...
Jim you might want to download MPEG Streamclip as it is a free easy to use program that lets you chop up your segments before putting them in the video editor.
I am not a master at video so if I find it useful then you know it is good :)
Good job on the video & blog...I just wish I didn't have...
AdventureDuo Dave & Yoshi are part of this which means it will be super cool with great pics & write up
Now I just want to see if Dave makes a mini-Trasharoo for the Trail 90's :)
I would go for dual batteries or a jump start box also early in the list if solo travel is a common thing.
And for me a fridge comes before a winch...at least if I get stuck I can enjoy the down time :)
In all honesty a winch is such a rarely used thing me in the desert southwest that the value...

great trip report style with the captions on the pics
great write up and looks like a fun family outing
It would cool to see more pics as I have never been to Death Valley but I really want to.
Would you say your timeframe was too short or ok? I am thinking a week would be plenty of time.
a couple of cool builds you are getting going there...
I really like that body style on the Montero.
But honestly it is the time you are spending as a family that really makes all the difference.
Good on you for getting out there with the kids and teaching!
As alwats Tim your combo of writing & pics are really great, your blog is one of the few that I check on a regular basis just to see what you are up to

Well Sean as one overlander to another I would say you need to pm me as I have a cigar connection you might just be interested in...
Before I was a RN I owned a couple of cigar shops...yep I was a tobacconist. Now that job let me do plenty of travel through Central America and some choice...
And I am simply enjoying the rig right now :)
I have a freshly rebuilt 700r4/turbo/inj pump and I am waiting to hear on finding a good block.

Then when I get back from Australia (going for June & July) then I will install the 700r4...
I am taking my family (wife & two sons..21 & 14) to Australia for 2 months of travel.
My 21yr old lives at home since he going to college but he is responsible for his moto/cell phone payments and he needed to save up to cover those (not much really).
Otherwise we made a plan about 1 yr ago and...
Great write up and nice pics to go with the story...
