Perfect off-highway tire = LTX? What?

I’m with you, I love Michelin. I did hear they now make an E rated 35, but for a 20 inch rim,

I might go back down to 35s on my Ram 3500. Thoughts?

I’m up in northern Ontario now on vacation, I am pulling about 6k, hauling 4 people and a ton of gear and food for 2 weeks. Running 37 Toyo MT, I couldn’t emagine how many times my trans would be downshifting and how much bad fuel economy I would get if I still had 3:42 gears. If your towing...

Why don't i see any Thule or Yakima boxes on Overland rigs?

I’m surprised there is no wind noise at all either.

Why don't i see any Thule or Yakima boxes on Overland rigs?

For anyone interested, I just drove through a downpour, to the point you can barely see one foot in front of your vehicle, everything in the yakama box was bone dry. So far I’m impressed with it, we will see how it holds up as it seams flimsy.

Ok... I’m sure 100 lbs extra caused that frame to break. But yes your right, make sure you within the vehicles limits.

    Another Ram 3500 build...

I think they make 4:44 gear set not the 4.56 anymore... I could be wrong though. Your right I have heard the AAM gear sets are quiet. On another note, my nitro 4:30 gears are quiet.

    Another Ram 3500 build...

Just ran 70 mph, I’m one line under 2k, looks like 1900 rpms is my guess. 4:30 gears and 37’s give you a ton of pulling power, and the exhaust brake really comes on strong. I think you’ll be fine with 4:30 gears and 37’s or 40’s. Look at it this way, if you run 4.56 gears you’ll be fine, but if...

Why don't i see any Thule or Yakima boxes on Overland rigs?

Thanks for the advice, I’ll be careful with the keys. I have yakama jet stream bars, they are not round. I can se how it can move with round bars.

    Another Ram 3500 build...

Just did a check for you! I ran 80 mph on the interstate and was running 2000 rpms, 37x13.50 tires. I’ll report back on 70 mph.

Why don't i see any Thule or Yakima boxes on Overland rigs?

Well I did it, yakama skybox 21 carbonite, $600 new, I feel that’s a decent deal, hopefully my gear stays clean and dry.

There’s no way 100 extra lbs and no trailer brakes did that. GM screwed me on a Denali HD duramax I briefly had, 9 trips to the dealer for the same repair and they couldn’t figure it out. This story really has soured me on the zr2... I won’t buy one ever because of this.
