I don't think they've had the HDPP option for several years. My lightly optioned SC XLT was only 1300#. I don't think you'll find many 4X4 SCs on dealer lots with 2000# payload.

I might have missed it, maybe in another thread, but how much over payload are you? Would you suggest a number of pounds that is OK or would you use a percentage?

One thing I don't understand about overloading a truck is the "why." There are plenty of appropriate vehicles for any size camper. :unsure:

Should be adequate for the rated payload of a 2500.

You might go to a dealer and look underneath one with the FX4 pkg. If those "skid plates" cover what concerns you it should be easy to add them to your truck.

Yes, I got some clamp on extensions that gave a good view on the road. The mirror differences confused me when I was trying to back up the trailer so not completely satisfactory. If I keep the combo I may put a camera at the back of the trailer with a constant rear view.

I have a 2022 Frontier that I use to pull a small Casita travel trailer. In the midst of COVID I found myself needing a new tow vehicle and Frontiers were actually available. The pluses are a strong naturally aspirated V6, comfortable cabin and a useful tow mode. Negatives are low payload and...

I think it will be awhile before you can just go to a dealer and pick out a new 4Runner or LC.

They have said the brands will retain their separate identities. If they prune Nissan my guess is some of the overlapping small "clown" SUVs. IIRC Nissan said they were going to use the Titan factory space in MS for some other product. Titan is done and gone. Frontier seems different enough...

Jane, my point was that current 2-3% inflation isn't "runaway" but some stupid policy could change that in a hurry. Hopefully better minds will prevail.

The COVID inflation has been over for awhile now.
