I have a SoCal 510 and love it. Under $15k? Nope. Sounds like you might do well with a Hiker Trailer: https://www.hikertrailers.com/hikers/

Happy to help! I took a few pics this morning of the orientation and aluminum brackets I made. I used rubber grommets to minimize vibration. I would advise ditching the hose clamps that come in the Derale kit in favor of re-using the stock Toyota constant tension clamps on the 3/8" trans line...
I tow a So-Cal 510 with my 2012 Tacoma, 33s on both. 4.56 gears were the best mod to date, though it towed okay with stock gearing it's much happier now. I have the "tow package" but upgraded the tranny cooler to get the temps even lower. No idea on mileage, don't want to know! Any questions...
Ah! A hand brake! I'm jealous, using my wheel chocks feels so...antiquated. :) I'll be interested to see some pictures of the setup, cable runs, level placement, etc. Are they independant (like Xventure) or one near the tongue (like Conquerer)? I advised a friend who recently had a 510 built to...
Congrats! I happen to know of someone else who recently took delivery of a 510 on 37s. They look incredible with that tire. Shame I have a Tacoma with 33s. First world problems I guess! Lol
I noticed SoCal offers a cover, https://www.socalteardrops.com/parts.php?cid=8&pid=122. Don't know...
I don't think so. I was looking at the 4" tall size for my top drawer, length is whatever you cut it to. I think it would work really well, but like wiredinoc said, not cheap.
Would love to see pics! Nothing I've found is cheap at all. I just happened on a brand new Pelican case with foam on...
When I got my 510 I already had a Pelican case (1690) with the pick-n-pluck foam. I used the foam for the drawers in the 510, just picked out sections for the items I wanted to store. Has worked great. Only drawback is once you pick the foam you can't change the setup. I've considered switching...
I put this topper on my stock 510 mattress. The padded portion is 60"x80" but since the topper is designed for a full height mattress it stretches around/under with no problem:

Sounds like your 510 is going to be awesome! I love the new fridge placement, much better use of the space. How does that affect the length of the bed?
My garage is 80" as well. I want to add a leaf to my spring pack but then it won't fit, and I'm not sure I want to deal with lowering it to...
I could absolutely install a shelf above it, per the instructions it only needs 25mm of space around it. I just haven't needed a shelf.
Note: Westy Ventures is the US importer and warranty center for these heaters, Karl is very helpful.
The HS2000 (pictured above, $695+shipping from Westy...
I have. It generates a lot of heat and is very effective at heating the space. The lack of a thermostat, moisture generation, no convenient place to set it inside the cabin (it doesn't fit on the shelves), and safety concerns are what prompted me to leave it at home. The heat goes straight up...
Hey Kevin, are the bolt patterns the same for the 10# tank mounts and 5# tank mounts? I'm going to replace my 10# tank with two 5# tanks and and I'm hoping they bolt right up. If not, I'll need to plug a couple holes like you did and I'm curious what parts you used to plug them?

No drilling into your tanks for sending unit and more accurate than 1/4, 1/2, etc. Sounds like a good option to me.
I believe that's the same unit Patriot Campers uses.
