Uh-oh... you should feed it, give it a bath, and send it away (to me).. quick! Its easier to do before you become to attached to them! :)
Nice find....Best winch out there IMHO! I'm guessing you won't leave that alone either so check these guys out. Crazy!

Looking great! Couple of random thoughts to add..
*First I marked the rear bumper/crossmember for the install on the rear of the frame. I like marking in blue and then using a scribe. It give a nice thin line that is fairly easy to see and doesn't rub off too easy. I then usually 'text' out what...
get a leg up...
Thanks 6! I'm still trying to figure out the swing part of the carrier but I have a long weekend to get it done, I hope. Still need to create the part that actually holds the tire and hoping to make it adjustable. Set low for street driving so I can use the rear view mirror and...
Love the build. One thing to note is about the tongue box. I have the same HF box and I had issues with the lids hinge coming off due to weak rivets. You may want to replace them with steel ones... or tack it on like I did.
That is correct, sir! :) I'm going through a JFO school right now and get to be up close and observant of the working end of these.
You don't happen to know anyone that has an extra oil tube bracket for a Willys 134 do you?
This and that...
Here (Germany) I have to try and sneak in parts runs or material pick ups whenever I can get away from work. They have some strange work/store hours and I never seem to get what I need.
I've been tinkering on my roof rack/RTT carrier/and rear swing out tire carrier so I made a...
Because 99 is a "change over" year. Makes it really hard (as your discovering) to just walk into the auto parts store and get what you need. There are some minor and semi-major diffs between models and applications. Where as a YJ or TJ has a decent amount of room under the hood, an XJ or ZJ...
Gun mount..
The last crossmember in the rear section is the 'machine gun' crossmember. I still don't really know what I want to do for that one....
maybe mount one of these? :Wow1::wings:
I spy...
No big surprise but its looking great sir! (We've come to expect greatness from you) heehee!
Not to muddy your thread but I wanted to give you some motivation. I was heading into work this morning (Grafenwoehr Germany) and about wrecked pulling into the parking lot. Sitting there...
Oh.... Thank you SIR!!! Every time I see that thing I get a smile! And I haven't seen most of those pics even from the magazine article way back in the early 90s? You got more? Crack addict likey! :)
still putting away...
Some random pics... Mind you I have the tent just sitting 180* from how it will end up but at least its up there for now. I'm building a swing out tire carrier and trying to air the tent out at the same time so for now it is deployed open. Much more to do but I'm hoping I...

The Rubi and TJ/LJ are likely to have the same part number but its an oddball. One of the complaints (few that they are) is the strength of the Rubi Dana 44. It isn't a "true" 44 but a hybred which is why the parts interchange. If you put a rubi 44 next to a traditional (say, FSJ?) 44 you would...
For the 8274 check out Gigglepin (.com or . Net? Not sure, sorry). They make some sick upgrades for the best winch ever!!
If your not going that way and you plan to actually rely on the winch, i still say go Warn. That are not cheap but they have stuck to their guns for quality IMHO.
